Annual report September 2023/Aug 2024

Church

We are a growing church that loves to worship Jesus Christ. Join us for worship on Sunday at 11:00am, featuring video, dance, drama, and puppets for all ages. it is modern in a "cafe style" with a break for coffee and cake and led by our own lively band.

It is good to see more young families have joined the congregation, and another baby to bless our church family.

Our worship is always café style and thanks to a gift in memory of a beloved member, we were able to convert the old disused organ chamber into an accessible toilet and kitchen, with a serving hatch into the worship area.

Another cause for celebration as Chris qualified as a worship leader, and we were delighted to hold his recognition service.

One of the highlights of the year was a trip to Big Church Fest were Rend Collective and Chris Tomlin were the top worship leaders, fourteen of us went and it was a fantastic experience worshiping with thousands of fellow Christians.

We would like to wish our minister Heather a happy retirement after forty years’ service, our love and best wishes go with her, and we look forward to welcoming Rev Dan in September.

Mums and tots Mon, Wed & Friday.

Remains a nice friendly welcoming group but mostly babies nowadays as they are going to nursery at two years of age taking advantage of the voucher scheme set up by the government.

Monday and Wed Youth Club

Still attracts good numbers, with two bouncy castles, table tennis, badminton, computer games and a variety of arts and crafts there’s plenty to do. We have also kited out an old storeroom and converted it into a sensory room.

Puppetry Mission

Continues to be a major part of the church life taking part in worship both here and at Moreton Methodist. They also performed at two retirement homes and raised money for Claire House by performing at Morrisons. The puppet team also ran workshops several youth clubs.

Tuesday Adult social club

Now in its third year there are a regular twenty five people attending and others joining when childcare permits, they have a fun time together, the youth club games room is open with snooker, pool etc. The coffee bar is open with board games and a social area to chill and chat new people are always welcome .

Thursdays Rainbows Brownies and Guides

This is a well-established group that has been running on this site for over fifty years and continues to serve the community and is blessing to the church

Holiday Club

Run in partnership with Moreton Church offered four days of club 10am till 2pm, with breakfast and lunch provided.

Apart from the regular club activities we had some special visitors including AZ Safari Party, Gautby Road Reptile encounter, Alwood Donkeys, Fancy Dress Party and a portable climbing wall.

Once again, a big thank you to all who helped, in so many ways, It was a massive project and wonderful that we can offer this to our community.
