To promote humane behaviour towards
animals and to educate the public in
matters

to animal welfare.
The central work of the charity is to take in
homeless, abandoned or stray cats in need
from the surrounding areas of Kent and
East Sussex. We provide shelter on site
and endeavour to provide the best Gare for
these cats until a suitable permanent home
is found.
Cats brought in are immediately given
veterinary examination and any necessary
treatment. All cats are neutered and
microchipDed.
We respond to all contact from the public
regarding cats that are giving cause for
concern and take appropriate action. We
also give advice and aid to those members
of the public who are in difficulty or unable
to continue to keep their cats.
The rescue is open daily for members of

Achievements and Performance
SORP reference
This year 176 cats have been rehomed.
This number is a small increase on the
previous year which is encouraging. Vvhile
the numbers of abandoned cats in need
are increasing, rehoming continues to be
slow. This is a concern which appears to
be affecting all animal rescues in the
current economic climate. Many people are
more cautious about committing to taking in
cats, partly because of the rising costs of
food, litter and veterinary care. Despite this,
we have had a regular influx of visitors and
rehoming has been overall steady, despite
some quiet periods.
The housing crisis and rental shortages
have obliged some tenants to relocate to
homes where animals are not permitted.
Unfortunately, we have seen a rise in the
numbers of owners abandoning their cats.
Our mission has been to provide support
and advice on the options available to
owners to avoid the cruel abandonment of
cats. Where possible, we have accepted in
cats who are the unfortunate victims of the
social and economic fluctuations affecting
members of the public. Our policy has been
to accept into the rescue, where space
permits, any cats in need of a home,
regardless of circumstances. This includes
feral cats This is in line with our aims to be
of benefit to all the cats in need within our
area, and to the members of the public
involved.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.

Financial Review
Review of the charity's
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21
This year has seen an improvement in the
financial situation when compared with the
previous year. This has been mostly due to
the increase in donations. There has also
been a reduction in some costs, in
particular vet and medication bills. Although
the charity is still running at a loss, the
large drop in income over the previous year
has been partly reversed and the financial
future is lookin
more secure.

We hold zero reserves.
There are sufficient cash funds to cover an
unplanned shutdown of a small charity. No
exceptional expenditure is expected in the
coming year, above the anticipated general
rise in costs. It is in the charity's best
interests to have the flexibility to spend
