Trustees' Annual Report (continued) For the Year Ended 31 March 2022
Review of Activities
In the year to 31st March 2021 income increased to £89,658 compared to the previous year of £141,705. The increase last year is due to the Foodbank Grants that have been received.
We have continued to work on improving our budgets by changing the central heating system controls from manual operation to internet automated remote operation. This should reduce heating costing in the coming year.
The building security has been upgraded with CCTV, shutters to some windows and an upgraded remotely controlled monitored alarm system.
Hiring of rooms has continued to produce a steady income and we will endeavour to improve this income stream
Our achievements this year
Regular Key Leader evening have been launching in 2021 / 22 bringing all the various leaders form all areas of church life together
Improvements to the volunteer’s application and training have been developed this year. All new volunteers and existing volunteers are invited to training evenings 3 times a year.
Nehemiah Day have also been launched again in 2021 / 2022. This brings the whole church together on a weekend for general building cleaning, decorating and maintenance.
We have continued to grow Shoreline Food Bank and our monitoring system continues to improve and staffing levels have risen in this year. The need is still great, and 40 to 50 people are given food and goods daily.
We are thankful to all members of Shoreline Church who input into the above ministries.
Positive input from our Shoreline Family continues the growth of our outreach into the community.
The mid-week Youth Programme has closed for the immediate future although the church leaders are investigating ways to launch again in 2022 / 23.
Shoreline Kids (Sunday School) continues to be busy with 10-15 kids attending each week.
As Directors we are thankful for the health we see in the church community and it’s ministry’s and programmes.

-
the accounts do not accord with such records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with relevant accounting requirements under section 396 of the Companies Act 2006 other than any requirement that the accounts give a "true and fair" view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or
-
the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS102).
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the

Notes to the Accounts
For the Year Ended 31 March 2022
1 General information
The charity is a private company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales and a registered charity in England and Wales. The address of the registered office is 9 Mornington Road, Southport PR9 0TS
2 Statement of compliance
These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland', the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Charities Act 2011.
3 Accounting Policies
3.1 Basis of Preparation
The accounts have been prepared on the historical cost basis, as modified by the revaluation
of certain financial assets and liabilities and investment properties measured at fair value through income or expenditure.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling which is the functional currency of the entity.
3.2 Going concern
There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue.
3.3 Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees to further any of the charity's purposes. Designated funds are restricted funds earmarked by the trustees for particular future projects or commitment. Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure declared by the donor or through the terms of an appeal, and fall into one of two sub-classes, restricted income funds or endowment funds.
3.4 Incoming Resources
All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when entitlement has passed to the charity; it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the charity and the amount can be reliably measured. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income:
Income from donations or grants is recognised when there is evidence of entitlement to the gift, receipt is probable and its amount can be measured reliably.
Legacy income is recognised when receipt is probable and entitlement established.
Income from donated goods at the fair values of the goods unless this is impractical to measure reliably, in which case the value is derived from the cost to the donor or the estimated resale value. Donated facilities and services are recognised in the accounts when received if the value can be reliably measured. No amounts are included for the contribution of general volunteers.
Income from contracts for the supply of services is recognised with the delivery of the contracted service. This is classified as unrestricted funds unless there is a contractual requirement for it to be spent on a particular purpose and returned if unspent, in which case it may be regarded as restricted.
Notes to the Accounts For the Year Ended 31 March 2022
3.5 Resources Expended
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is classified under headings of the statement of financial activities to which it relates.
Expenditure on raising funds includes the costs of all fundraising activities, events, non-charitable trading activities and the sale of donated goods.
Expenditure on charitable activities includes all costs incurred by a charity in undertaking activities that further its charitable aims for the benefit of its beneficiaries, including those
support costs and costs relating to the governance of the charity apportioned to charitable activities. Other expenditure includes all expenditure that is neither related to raising funds for the charity nor part of its expenditure on charitable activities.
All costs are allocated to expenditure categories reflecting the use of the resource. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs are apportioned between the activities they contribute to on a reasonable, justifiable and consistent basis.
3.6 Depreciation
Depreciation is calculated so to write off the cost or valuation of an asset, less its residual value, over the useful economic life of that asset as follows:
Motor Vehicles
25% per annum reducing balance basis
3.7 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short term highly liquid investments with a short maturity of three months or less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar account.
3.8 Creditors and Provisions
Creditors and provision are recognised where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to settle the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably. Creditors and provisions are normally recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts due.
3.9 Financial Instruments
The trust only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their settlement value with the exception of bank loans which are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest
