Objectives and Activities

RCCG Redhill Tabernacle is dedicated to enabling as many people as possible from Redhill and surrounding areas to fellowship with us.

Our services and worship put faith into practice through Prayer and Scripture, Prayer clinics and outreach programmes. We are also committed to supporting and collaborating with other charities within the community.

When planning our activities, we have considered the commission’s guidance on public benefit and in particular the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. We try to enable people from the public to live out their faith as part of our church community through:

‐Worship and Prayer, learning about the gospel and developing people’s knowledge of God.

‐Provision of pastoral care for the congregation and people from our community.

‐Outreach and Charitable work

Achievements and Performance.

Worship and Prayer

The main church service is every Sunday in the main church building. Additionally, we offer evening prayers and bible study on Wednesday and Fridays every week. These are quieter and more intimate and reflective in nature with the aim of providing extra opportunities for families to interact and share their faith.

Provision of Pastoral Care

The church pastors continued to provide spiritual and pastoral guidance to the congregation and the community. This has been accomplished through bible studies, monthly question and answer sessions and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Informal counselling and guidance to the congregation is available on request. Part of this providing pastoral care for bereaved families and those going through difficult times.

Outreach and Charitable Work

RCCG Redhill Tabernacle supports various charities in the community and carries out outreach work. Over the Christmas period the charity worked with the local council to identify families in need of assistance. Churches Together organised a pre‐recorded Christmas carol service of which the church choir was a part of.

To help support struggling families within the community, our members are encouraged to donate food items which are then donated to the local food bank. We have a permanent food collection point at the church. Outreach programs had to be postponed due to the lockdown restrictions. Usually, an annual family fun day at Memorial Park in Redhill and a day trip to the beach are organised.

The church has also helped several youths to develop their interest in music by providing musical instruments and offering the youths a platform on which to practice their skills and gain confidence. We are currently working Compassion UK thoroughly voluntary monthly financial contributions to support children in need in both in the UK and abroad. We encourage church members to give towards this laudable project.

We are linked with the Churches Together initiative in Reigate and Banstead. This is reinforced by the church leaders coming together for prayer meetings and consultations regarding outreach events. We work together to impact the local community through the Real Meal project (homeless and those in need)

Other activities include opening our doors for the National Day of Prayer and Thy Kingdom come prayer week.

Financial Review

The incoming resources were £89,037.00. Out of this amount, £6,546.00 was made up of Gift Aid claims. Restricted donations of £7,550.00 were also received. The restricted donations are for the church building fund. We have continued our commitment to make improvements to the church building. The acquisition of the church has made our charity more accessible to the public than it previously was. We would like to extend our thanks to our members for continuing to support our common cause of making our building as comfortable and safe as possible.

Reserve Policy

It is RCCG Redhill Tabernacle’s policy to maintain unrestricted reserves (if possible) of at least £9,000 to meet any unforeseen circumstances. This equates to 3 months’ running costs. I’m pleased that the reserves balance has continued to be in line with our policy.

Future Plans:

The nationwide coronavirus restrictions continue to pose a challenge to our plans of renovating the upstairs flat. We will continue to review the current situation and follow government guidelines in all our planning. As we are in the middle of a nationwide lockdown, our building is seeing extraordinarily little use. Church services have moved online as well as all bible studies.
