The charity is a local Chrlstian church whlch has existed on West End Estate. Fareham for upwards of 50 years. The Charity is now governed by a Dedaratson of Trust dated 22 March 2011. Trustees must be appointed by a simple majority at a meetin9 of the Spiritual leadershlp of the church. The leadershlp comprlses three Elders and three Deacons all of whom are trustees and who meet separately in fulfllment of thelr duties. but also meet as a co-ordinating team every two months or more often, as needed. All six trustees comprise the 'Spirltual leadership, referred to in the Declaration of Trust. The receipt and distribution of funds is handled by the Churth Treasurer and an Assistant TreaSU￿r and both a￿ trustees of this Trust. The charity is a local assembly of Chrlstlans with Its roots based on the Open Breth￿n movement. The trustees have consldered the major rlsks faong the tharity and have put in place pollcies to mitigate dsk e.g. in relation to the proper stewardship of funds. induding the operation of bank accounts, and in relation to child protection and fire risks. Objectlves and actlvltles The objects of the church are for the benefit of the public to advance the Christian faith in accordan￿ with the Ststemert of Beliets in the Declaration of Trust In such way and in suth parts of the United Kingdom or the worfd as the Trustees from time to time think frt, and to fulfil such other purposes which are exdusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charltable work of the Trust in such way and in such parts of the United Klngdorn or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit. The main attivities undertaken by the thurch for the wblic benefit in relation to these objects in the period covered by this have been regular public meetings for the worship of God. Gospel p￿aching, &'ble teaching, and prayer rrEetings. Additionally, the thurch has operated speclfic groups and clubs. Also. the Church participates in the Food bank 5theme by sending monthly donations to the local foodbank. The church, through rts regular offenngs, has also been able to asslst in forwarding the Christian gospel in other parts of the world by the relief of people in need from 'natural' disasters, poverty or persecution and has also assisted with the finanaal support of mtssionaries and Christian workers overseas and in the UK. The trustees mnsider that all the activities undertaken by West End Chapel Fareham were in furtherance of its charitable purposes for the public benefit. Furthermore, in carrying out these objects and attivities the trustees have had reoard to the guidan￿ conceming public benefit issued by the Charity Commission. Athlevements: The achievements of the charity in the period covered by this report indude(I holding a weekly Good Nevis Bible club for children, aged 4-10 years, which was attended by atjout a dozen local child￿n on a Wednesday evening. On Friday evenlngs, the Charity runs a t&nage group called Transformers with a membership which averages ten teenagers from the local area, The club is designed to keep young people off the streets and provide a supportive environment in which they play games, socialise and can receive spiritual help. A 'Little Sparrows, club for carers and toddlers is also conducted regularly. on a Friday moming. Also, Messy Church is held on the thlrd Sunday. bimonthty. for Childr￿ accompanied by parent or guardian. Thls Is a free event whlch includes a meal. Other speclal events to promote the Christian Gospel and benefft local people were held including Quiz nights and a harvest supper. The church has also conducted several acts of publlc 'open-airf Gospel witness in the Town centre in the year. Once each quarter the church distributed the 'Good News. Christian paper to about 550 local homes. The local council also use the church for a polling stabon for local and general electlons. The church also, has donated to the local food bank, In the fonn of food and monetary donations. The church services are open to all and at the Sunday morning Bible teaching servitr about 40-50 adults were present most weeks to hear the Bible taught and the gospel of Jesus Chrfst preached. During the servlce the 'Junlor church, has age-appropriate Bible teaching in separate group. On Sunday evenings a Bible study followed by a communion SeN1￿ is held. Every Thursday evening a prayer meeting Is held In the thurch. Flnanclal Revlew: The charlty is permitted by another Trust to occupy and manage the Chapel premises, rent- free, but In return for paying for any necessary repairs and the runnln9 costs e.g. heating bills. The income during the year under ￿VIeW amounted to £29,993.84, which is frorn weekly offerlngs including gift aid, along vilth various gifts to church funds, fees for church hire, and specific gifts for other Chrlstian organisations supported by the thurch. The total fund of the charity Is £30,508.98. Reserves". The charty's principal source of funds Is the offerlngs made each Sunday by those In the church fellowship or paid into church bank account by members on standlng orders. The charity has been spending money on the West End Chapel premises in order to make that bullding more useful to the local communlty and the church itself as stated above. The church has no need to create other reserves currently, particularfy because it does not employ any paid stsff and all the work of the charity is carried on by churth members acting as volunteers.
