pitch wear and tear whilst 50% of the 11 a side pit¢hgs have been out of use. 0$ they loc& to improv8
their playability by inslalfing fijrther drainage.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The accounts on pages 6 10 13 set out the details of the Statement of Financial Activities lor the year ended 31
August 2024 and the Balance Sheet as al that dale.
For the year ended 31 August 2024. total incoming resources were £303,093 12023= £272.8911 and total
resources expended of £281,87112023= 229,2901. The resulting surplus for 2024 was £21,22212023.' £43,601).

At the y88r end th8 ch8rity hèld reservas of £169,340 which is above the target level of reserv8$13-5% of the nel
amount of annual expendllurel. Trustees have agreed to hold this level of reserves lo fund significant
improv8m8nts and inv8stmant in th8 facilities. including a full refurbishment of the old sports h811 costlng circa
£95k.
A Strategic development improvement plan is in place to spend above the reserve policy target. Trustees will
ke8p the overall lev81 ol reseNes under review in ccnjunction wth the landlord (Gordano School. which is part ol
the Lighthouse Schools Partnership).
b. PRINCIPAL FUHDING
The principal funding sourca is from tharilabl8 actiwtie5.
PLANS FOR THE FiJfuRE
After the proposed transfer of the trade, asseis and liabilities of th¢ ¢harily, Lighthouse S¢hwl Partn¢rship will
then look to outsource the provision lo an external prowder to run the gym facility and lettings in exchange for
share of the surplus generated.

CHARITY INFORMATION
Gordano School Community Trust Is a company limited by guarantee and a charity registered at the
Charity Commlssksn In England and Wales. The principal office Is Gordano School, St Marys Road,
Portishead, North Somerset, BS20 7QR.
ACCOUNTING POLICIES
2.1 BASIS OF PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The financial statgments have been prepafftd in accordance with the Statement of ReCoMmer￿ed
Practice applicable to charilies praparing thèir accounts in accordance with Ihe Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffective 1 January
20151 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdotn and Republic of
Ir•land IFRS 1021 and th8 Charities Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted ACcoun￿'ng Practice as
it 8ppliés from 1 January 2019.
The Charity constitutes a public benefrt entity as d8fined by FRS 102. Assets and Ilabllities are
initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless othe￿ise stated in the relevant
accounting policy.
The Charity's functional and presentst￿nal currency is the pound slwling.
22 GOING CONCERN
11 is the intention of the trustees to cease the operation of the charity within 12 months of signing
these accounts and transfer the trade, asse15 and liabilities of the charity lo the Lighthouse
Schools Partrership. Lighthouse School Partnership will then look to oulsoum the provision to
an extemal provider. The trustees therefore conclude that the acix)unts are p￿pared on a basis
other than as a going concem, no adjustments lo income, expenditure, assets or liabilities have
been required lo prepare the accounts on this basis.
2.3 CHARIry STATUS
The charitable company is limited by guarantee. The members of the charitable company are the
Trustees named on page 1. In the event of the charitable company being wound up, the liability
Sn ospe¢l ofthe guarantee iy Ilmited lo £1 per member of th& charitable company.
2.4 FUND ACCOUNTING
General funds are unwslrlcled funds which are 8V8ilable for use al the diScre￿On of the Twstees
in furtheran¢è Df Ihè general objectives of the charity and which have not bèèn designat8d for
¢)ther purposes.
2.5 INCOME FROM CHARrrABLE ACTNMES
AJI income from charitable activities is included in the Statement of financial activitses when th8
charity is legally entitled to the income aTrJ the amount can be quantified with reasonable
accuracy.
Income tax recoverable in relation to donats'ons received under Gift OT deeds of covenant is
recognised at the lime of the donation.
2.6 DEBTORS
Trade and other debtors are recognised at the settlempnt amount after 8ny trade discount off8r8d.
Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any trade discounts due.

2.9 PENSIONS
Th* tharity operatas a defined contribution pension sch•m•, and the pénsion charga represents
the amounts payable by the charity to Ihe fund in respect of the year.

Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short-lerm highly liquid investments with 8 short maturity
of three months or less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or Similar acts)unl.
