We use the Practice Guidanc& Early Years Foundation Stage November 2025 to plan and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development. We assess how young children are learning and developing by obseNing them continually. We use intormation that we gain from obseNations, as well as from photographs ofthe children, to document their progress and where this may be leading them. We believe that parentg know their children best Énd at our regular parent meetings we ask parents to contribute to assessment by gharing information aboutwhgt their Ghildren like to do at home and how they as parents are supporting development. Evory child is allocated to 8 'key' member of staff who will collect information about each child's needs, activities, interests and achievements. This information will enable the key member of staff to identify each child's stage of progress so that the key member of staff can decide how to help each child to move on to the next stage. At Pre-5choolwe always maintain or exceed the ratio of adultsto children in each session that is set through the Department of Educationl OFSTED Requlrements. The tru$tees thank the excellent slalf of the pre-school for all their hard work during the last year, and especially the pre-school managerlSENCOI DSL who spends many hours outside session hour5 dealirig with the increasing amount ol paperwork required and to whom the trusteeg are extremely grateful. The charity could not function without the help of several individvals who give freely of their time to assist with the administration required to run a registered charity. The trustees would like to thank all these individuals who help with the running of the charity and who provide continuing support. The Pre-school's fee charging policy reflects the objective of generating resources to cover its activities whilst not ersdangering the future existence of the charity. The Pre- school relies on fees from some parents to cover that part of its operating costs not

JELLYTOTS PRE-SCHOOL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 202*25 covered by funding from Ioc81 authorities and other organisations. The linan¢ial policy of the charity is to maintain a cushion of reserves 80 that. if unexpected adverse circumstances occur, the Pre-school can continue to provide sessions for children. Once this reserve reaches the level deemed suff ici6nt by the trustees. then the Pre- school's fees are set at a level to approximately break-even each year bel￿een its incoming and outgoing resources. The Pre-school has reviewed the fees to be charged during the coming year, esp8cially for those parents on low in¢ome5. When conducting this review, the Pre-gchool has ref8rr8d to the Charity Commission's guidanc8 on public benefit, includingthe guidance on public benefit and fee-charging. Structure. JELLYTOTS PRE-SCHOOL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 2024-25 Risk Management The charity's major risk factor is that there 18 a reduction in the number of ehildren attendingthe sessions. and therefore a reduction in tees received. either from fee-paying parents or funding organisations. Organl8ation The trustees, who meet formally when required. control the governance and finances of the charity and advise the managers of the Pre-school. The managers of the Pr8-school make the day-to-day decisions about the organisation of thè daily Pre-school sessions. The managers of the Pre-school are in daily contact with those trustees who are often Family Members of the charity. The Chair of the charity. who is in regular contact with both the trustees and the manager5 of the Pre-school. exercises an oversight on the Pre- school managers. ospecially on financial matters. Relatod partles Both manager9 of the Pre-school are trustees of the charity. During the 2024125 year the Secretary of the charity provided administrative financial services to the Pre-school. All three trustees receive a galary lor their work for the Pre-9chool but do not receive any remuneration for being a trustee ol the charity. The Pre-school had an operating deficit ot £22,379 tor the year ènded 31 August 2025, compared to a surplus 01 £51,832 for th8 previous y8ar. The Charity has break-even approach to funding, and in the previous y8ar beneliled from increased numbers of children at the school and addltional sources ol funding. In the current year. we have noted reduced numbers of children, as well 88 increased costs In Computing and hall hire. The charity is contirsuing to monitor costs to ensure the ongoing viability of the pre-school. The Pre-school continues to benefit from the Government scheme to relieve Small organisations of the cost of Employers National Insurance contribution8. The Pre-school had reseNes of £61,396 on 31 August 2025. These reserves are retained by the charity to cover unexpectecs events. The trustees consider that the charity should have reserves in the region of £20.000 (reflecting costs for half a term) as part ol its risk- averse reserves policy. Investment pollcy Surplus bank funds aye held in a bank deposit account paying a commercial rate of interest.

JELLYTOTS PRE-SCHOOL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 202425 Ro$8rv•8 pollcy The regetves policy of the charity is to maintain free reserves 50 that the Pre-school ca continue to provide the contracted setvice to parents if buffeted by unexpected events. The charity considers that reserves of É20,000 should be sufficient to maintain the Pre- school sessions in these circumstances. The charity operates a prudent policy for income recognition and fees are only included in incoming resources when they have been received. The charity will continue to hold sessions in th8 Community Centre premises. These premises provide a pleasant environment lor the children 8nd excell&nt Pre.school facilities so admiled and needed by the local community.
