AchI￿ements perform*D¢¢
The operational and finan¢ial planning for the yeAr April 2023 to March 2024 was very positive. We eontinucd
to work towards some fom of normality after the world recovcred from the ongoing effects of th¢ COVID 19
pandemic. The continuation of the war in Ukraine has still had an impact on the world economy. Issues such as
htgh energy prices still affected those t•tho are most vulnerable in our society.
During this fLnan¢ial year, we have conunued io build on our re-introdvction of ow social cngasell￿nt

inforniation and 2.206 cli¢nts were support¢d to completion for casework.
Unrestri¢ted revcnue 8enerdtion com¢s mostly from our retailing aciivities. In this financial year we achicvcd a
record 5a1¢5 l¢v¢l of £1.528,180 across our retsil estatc and online operations. This ¢onKs after a significant
program of restnJcDJrirtg following a change in the leadership of ¢h¢ r¢tailinE division. From that signifi¢8nt
sale5 level. when all direct operational ¢osts of the retsilinE divasion are dedu¢t¢d. that left a surplus
contribution to the charity's overheads and operationol costs of £466.738, thi5 equates to an above averdge
¢ontribution of 30.54°A. The rethiling division h&s been ehallen8ed by Tapid increases in the cost of employmenl
locally. This is beca￿￿¢ there h&5 been a proliferation of charity shops opening in the area offering higher
salaries than has been th¢ estsblished norni. As part of th¢ir progrdm of restructuring the new rethil management
amended the retail pay scales to better reflect the eurrent local market trends.
Grants andlor COntr￿ts prowde a source of restricted income for the ¢harity, however there is a n¢¢d to ensure
that any grant or contract does noi divert the charity from its agreed strategic plan. We also need to remain
awdrt of th¢ PDkntial fDr contracts in pffiÈculaY tD develop rmw￿l&l dependency ort the contrdctin8
