This objective presents the Trustee with
wide powers, enabling them to provide
charitable assistance to all elements of the
Royal Air Force Community; internal
subsidy of mess activities and grant-making
are the Royal Air Force High Wycombe
Warrant Officers’ and SNCOs’ Mess
principal means of delivering this charitable
assistance.

This Fund derives public benefit as it
assists in providing Royal Air Force
personnel with the necessary skills to carry
out the Royal Air Force contribution to the
Defence of the United Kingdom and its
interests. Service Funds are established
for the benefit of Service personnel to
promote military efficiency which underpins
esprit de corps and team working, and they
help to encourage personnel to develop the
character, spirit and attitude to face
challenges and danger associated with
military service. As a result the Fund
derives a benefit to the general public in
helping to provide personnel who are
motivated, have high morale and are willing
to serve the needs of their country and that
of its public, at all times

Para 1.20 The Mess Committee have made
significant in-year alterations in the planned
FY 24/25, in the form of an extensive ante
room overhaul and a large garden
refurbishment, to improve the conditions for
all Mess Members and visitors to the Mess.
The Mess Committee have held 6 formal
functions which the Mess has subsidised
through grants from the Entertainments
Fund. The 5 functions were:

a.Christmas Draw subsidy- £9,000.00
(approximately £39.54 benefit for 102
members and first guests).
b.Burns Night subsidy- £1,200.00
(approximately £20.00 benefit for 70
members and first guests).
c.VE Day 80th Anniversary Night
subsidy- £1,500.00 (approximately £21.70
benefit for 52 members and first guests).
d.Summer Ball subsidy- £13,000.00
(approximately £34.83 benefit for 94
members and first guests).

e. HMS Victory Formal Function subsidy - £1,500.00 (approximately £45.45 benefit for 33 members). f. Battle of Britain subsidy - £5,500.00 (approximately £35.47.00 benefit for all 43 members). The Formal Dinners and Christmas Draw functions have all proved very popular with the members, this is shown in the increased footfall. The Mess continues to provide funds for presentations to retiring members who are dined out of the Mess. The Main Mess Committee stayed within the limits of the Financial Plan and has achieved its Contingent Liability for the year.

Note 2 Accounting Policies
This standard list of accounting policies has been applied by the charity except for those identified, "No" or "N/a". Where a different or
additional policy has been adopted then this is detailed in the box below.
2.1 INCOME
Recognition of income These are included in the Statement of Financial Activities Yes

In adherence to the guidelines for RAF service charities, the value
of fixed assets outlined in the organisation's financial statements
are as follows:
Silverware, painting and prints, and select furniture items are
recorded at an insured valuation, which is subject to professional
review every five years. It should be noted that due to the elapsed
time, the original acquisition costs of most assets are not
ascertainable. Consequently, it has not been possible to fully
determine the amount of any related Revaluation reserve.
Additionally, other tangible assets are depicted at historical cost
less accumulated depreciation in accordance with relevant
accounting standards.
