STRucfuRE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT (continued)
Management Arrangements
The Trustees meet half yearly to monitor the activities of the charity, including the investment
perfomiance.
The day-t041ay administration of the charity is undertaken by independent professional firnis.
Rlsk Management
The Trustees continually review the major risks lo which the Ch￿'11Y is exposed. in particular those related
lo the finances of the charity. During the year Some Systems and poli¢i¢s were fonnalised and the trustees
are satisfied that systems are in pla¢e lo milig8le theii. exposure to major risk.
The majtsr risk of the charity is ils investment portfolio risk, which is mitigated by biannual meetings with
the Investinent Advisers.
OBJEcfs AND ACTIVITIES
Objects of the Churity
The Trust was established in 2011 in mernory of Steven Bloeh who died in 2008. Steven Suffered
a¢quii'ed brain injury following a skiing accident in 1980 and, having had to abandon his law studies,
eventually graduated with a BA (Hon5) in PhOto￿.aphy. Through his photography Steven promoted a
positive image of disability and il had long been his d¢sir¢ to set up a charitable trust for this purpose.
The establishment, therefore, of The Steven Bloch Image of Disability Charitable Trust is for the benefit
and support of disabled people in England and Wales and lo promote understanding of disability through
the arts, wi'lting and journalism.
ObJe¢tlves for the Year
The objectives for the year were:
To continue making grants in accordance with the objects of the charity.
To moniloy the income of the charity during th¢ continued turbulence in the financial markets.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Achievement of ObJectlYos and Public Benefit
The Tnistees met twice during the 2024125 financial ye￿. towards the end of September 2024 and the end of
March 2025 at the London offices of Knox Cropper. Neither Mr Martin Golding nor Mr John Raffles were
able to attend the meeting in Sepl¢rnber, but all Trustee5 were present al the March 2025 meeting.
Mr Keyin Lally of Knox Cropper attended the September meeting lo update the Trustees on changes in
Charity Law for which he provided a veiy helpful do¢ument under a clear set of headings and also highlighted
the release of a report from the National Cyber Security C¢ntre setting out the risks from oyber crime.
The March 2025 meeting was attended by Ella Brown {EB) and Adam Green (AG) from Caz¢nove Capital
ManaLi¢ment. They provided each Trustee with a breakdown of SB T's investment position and infornialion on
Market Outlook. All present agi'ecd that SBT investment policy should be revisited and AG Set out the pros
and con5 of investing in a single fund, often ¢hosen by smaller charitie5, which has lower costs. The Trustee5
subsequently decided tts go with Cazenove's advice tts invest in a single fund {CMAF) and Iheii. d¢¢ision
would be relayed to Cazenov¢ when Janet Bloch and Peter Ford all¢nd¢d the Wix Trusts meeting at the end of
April 2025.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE (continued)
Aehiev¢ment of ObJectives Public Benefit (continued)
Peter Ford's due diligence in Carrying out Checks on the Trust's Goveman¢e and Complian¢e Manuals was
much appr¢¢iated by the other Trustees and he confiiyned that he had completed Annual Reviews at the
September 2024 meeting. At the March 2025 meeting he reported that he had updated th¢ Compli&n¢e Manual
in accordan¢¢ with the Irquii'ements of the Charity Commission and provided each Trustee with a documenl
which required acknowledgement.
During the year the Trust re¢eived 95 appeals, slightly less than the previous year, and excluding the Snowdon
Trust, Southern Ski Club for the Disabled and Camden Art Cenlre. 13 of these were first-time applications.
John Raffles again cai'ried out due diligence on all new appeals. 10 appeals were rejected in September and 5
in March as not being in Sine with our Irinit for various reasons. 80 cliarities received donations of varying
amounts between £500 and £2,000. Although most charities greatly appreciated the help giv¢n and piDvid¢d
updates on how their donation was spent, disappointingly. il has been noted that a number of charities have
sent no acknowledgement despite an email address being given. On the plus side, our mor¢ recent connection
with Electric Umbrella who bring together ihe disabled and able-bodied reached the final of 'Brilain's Got
Talent, only losing out at the v¢ry last stage.
After a long pause due to a change in personnel. SBT again heard from the Snowdon Trust and were able to
support a further 8 students (one of whom we had supported previously) whose 5tudi¢s included Game
Design, Fashion Photography, the Pei'forming Arts and Multimedia Sports Journalism. Again,
disappointingly, despite reminders, the students we helped in 2023124 had not furnished SBT with reports on
their studies.
Although the Snowdon Trust did not hold a social gathering of students and their supporters during the year,
Janet Bloch (JBB} and Julie Bridgewater (JB) were able lo meet very recently with the Snowdon CEO, Helen
Saelensminde, and their newly appointed Fundraising Manager, Sarah Spellman who explained that
Snowdon's approach lo SBT might lake a different foiinat in future. Sarah would be letting us know details in
due course.
JBB mel lan Edwards (IE) of the Southern Ski Club for the Disabled in June 2024 when he reported that th¢
new offi¢elreception hub was being Cuslomised. By the lime of the March 2025 rneeling, it had been fully
disability adapted and insulated with lighting> heating 2nd emergency and power outlets. IE requested funding
for a sign reading 'SoutheTn Ski Club for the Disabled'and underneath 'Sponsored by The Steven Bloch
Image of Disability Charitable Trust,. The Trustees made a donation of £500, a little more than the £400
requested.
During the SUTnmer of2024, JBB, JB and Prof. Lubbock (JAL), Tnet with Kate Ferrie (KF) at the Camden Art
Centre to discuss a further pioject with SEND pupils from local schools with a requ¢st that it should involve
an clement of photography. A donation of £2,000 was allocated. A progress report wa5 received earliei. in
2025 but details of the exhibition for the project are still awaited. KF let us know that the photographic
element had generated much enthusiasm.
Suffice to say, that none of the objectives of the Trust could be achieved without the help of Knox Cropp¢r
and their personnel in hosting out meetings and, in particular, th¢ unfailing wise advice, support and
attendance at our meetings of Greg Stevenson.
Grant Mhklng Policies
Grant applications are Itviewed to ensure that they eomply with the requirements of the charity. The
Trustees authorise payment at their me¢lings during the year.
Fundral$lng
The Charity does not undertake any fundraising activities.
