## **What we do** 

Edgar’s Gift is a charity set up in honour of Benjamin Edkins following his death in 2010. We supply gifts and special days out to young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 in the East Midlands and up to 40 years of age for Sarcoma patients being treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary.  We offer holidays at our caravan in Mablethorpe to adults with families living or having treatment for cancer in the East Midlands (there is no age limit on this currently).

The trustees have regular meetings to discuss fundraising activities and the general running of the charity.  Where committee members report and what is currently happening and short-term future events and activities. 

Julie has connections with local hospital representatives who send gift and caravan applications for their patients.

Money raised from donations and from others. £27,012.31

Others came from a few people donating that visited the caravan. Amazon Smile Charities Trust (normally Salary giving) Christmas card donations Rock choir coffee collection 

We’ve had several donations coming in through the website into the PayPal account.  Some of these where people that couldn’t make the 15 year anniversary a few caravan visits.

## **Caravan and Gifts** 

We had 18 families visiting the caravan last year. 

The Malcolm Whales foundation Contributed £5000 towards the costs again this year. 

We completed a total of 15 Gifts for the year, most of these requested from Leicester hospitals. 

So, between Gifts and the holiday home we have supported a total of 33 families during one of the most challenging times in their lives. 

We also reached our major milestone in March this year of our 500[th] Gift. 

## **The events and promotional costs** 

Food and cost of the Golf Day paid to Glen Gorse Golf club Paying for the 15[th] Anniversary dinner (This cost was cancelled out by the kind donation given by Purple care) 



Various items for the anniversary dinner.  Including Helium and balloon weights and items for goody bags. 

Paying half of the takings from 1 of the quiz nights to Nuneaton Griff Football Club who helped arrange the event. 

## **Net of Receipts** 

The good news that following some great fundraising events and productive partnerships we have made a net gain of £48,594 

## **Annual accounts – Independent Examiner** 

The last few years Peter Cleaver has kindly volunteered to independently examine the accounts and is happy to do this again this year.

As the charitys trustees, you are responsible for the pr8paratlon of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charrties Act 2011
("the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination. I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under sectlon 145(5Xb) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examlnation. I confirm that no materfal matters have

cause to believe that in, any material respect:
the accounting records were not kept in accordance wlth sectlon 130
