– Where we get our money and how we spend it Treasurers report

Treasurers annual report – 2022 - 2023

Total income: £30400.71 PayPal: £1689.45 Bank Current account: £28488.45 Savings A/c interest: 222.84

Money raised from donations and from other charities. £11006.68

Money raised from Edgar’s Gift activities. £1819.00

Money raised from other activities i.e., sponsored events (Virgin money/just giving) £17352.19

The money raised from donations includes the £5000.00 we had from the Malcolm Whales Foundation as well as one off and regular donations of £100 per month from Tracey at Purple care. We had some people donate following visits to the caravan and from collection box’s, which Howard looks after for us around Hinckley.

We’ve had several donations coming in through the website into the PayPal account including some from companies that have had office events etc.

The money raised for Edgar’s Gift, includes Howard’s race day and St Georges day events and the upcoming Rochdale Football tournament.

With changing from Virgin money to Just giving we’re able to get a better site of Money raised by various activities I’ve listed the ones I can see below:

Ethan and Dean Hadrian’s Wall walk £410.00
Stevie summer wolf run £150.00
Dinesh Golf Day £1700.00
Alison Avery half Marathon £200.00
Howard Gold cup £530.00
Stewart London to Leicester run £1130.12
John Florio run £205.00
Glen Gorse Golf Club sky dive £2931.50

On top of what they all raised, there is also a further £1521.38 in gift aid.

Total expenditure : 45,868.16 PayPal £313.37 Bank £45,554.79

Caravan expenses £2478.23 Cost of new caravan with part exchange £40,024.12 Bank Charges £74.13 Gifts £2404.03 Website and Microsoft payments £138.95 Event costs £748.70

We had 19 families visiting the caravan last year and as we have not had to pay fees for this year that means that the cost per booking including cleaning was £130.00.

We completed a total of 7 Gifts for the year. This is less than normal and may be for a due to the fact that there are two other similar charities now in the East Midlands.

To try to combat both this and to help with caravan bookings I recently met with the Macmillan support workers in the Cancer unit at Leicester Royal infirmary who see quite a few adults between the age of 25 and 30 so hopefully this should create some further request.

The costs for the events are for the Malcolm whales dinner in August 2023, 7 representatives of the charity will be attending. We have also paid half towards the ground hire for the Rochdale Football event.
