– Where we get our money and how we spend it Treasurers report

Treasurers annual report – 2021 - 2022

Total income for : 37170.79 PayPal £466.77 Bank £36704.02

Money raised from donations and from other charities £16,448.16

Money raised from Edgar’s Gift activities 17,335.36

Money raised from other activities i.e. sponsored events (virgin money giving) £3387.27

The money raised from donations includes the £5000.00 we had from the Malcolm Whales Foundation as well as one off and regular donations from Tracey at Purple care. We also had a donation from Adept Care £1000.00 and Kelkay (the company David works for) sold sledges and raised £4608.00 which they kindly donated to us.

It also includes the odd payment made by people that visited the caravan My sister Elaine kindly donated a day’s pay for some work she did for Leicester City Council Sharon also put an application into the Albert Hunt trust for help with any updates to the caravan and we received £2000 from them

The money raised for Edgar’s Gift events is all pretty much for the dinner dance. I did also bank some money that Howard gave me from a collection box

Money raised from sponsored events has historically been difficult to measure. There was money from Howards Gold cup Stewarts run Ethan did the 3 peaks with a friend And some money we raised as part of the Dorset Walk.

Total expenditure : 9900.88 PayPal £718.87 Bank £9182.01

Caravan expenses £5298.78 Bank Charges £21.20 Gifts £3628.53 Website and Microsoft payments £161.46 Event costs £557.64

Promotional costs, Pens £233.27

We had 19 families visiting the caravan last year, so the costs per visit, based on the expenditure for the year, is around £280.00. We do, however, get the odd donation from guests following a holiday.

This year we are well on for a similar number of people visiting as last year (we currently have 18 bookings).

HSBC changed their policy for charities in November last year so that we are now charged £5.00 per month for banking with further charges for cheques and cash payments to them. When they announced this I at last managed to get a payment card and I am now able to make online payments, both of which will help to avoid charges.

We completed a total of 16 Gifts for the year. One was donated by a hotel in Birmingham for a hotel visit and tickets to Cadbury’s world. Another was donated by a Manchester United player, we paid for the young man’s hotel stay with his brother.

David updated the website earlier this year, so we no longer pay £10 per month to Matty for managing it for us. David now looks after it and we pay a fee of £4.79 to the hosting site.

The costs for the events include the extra meals we paid for (we had already paid for 200 guests). Cost of items for goody bags and the helium for balloons. Next kindly donated the light box’s which went down well.

I haven’t included the cost of the pens in the event costs because we ordered 1000 in total which was cheaper than ordering a small batch.
