CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES Trustees. Annual Report for the period From: 01.12.20 to 30.11.21 Charity name: Schools Ministry Billericay Charity registration number: 1141303 Objectives and Activities Summary of the purposes of the charity as set OLrt in its governing document Summary ofthe main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefrt, in particular. the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. Para 1.17 To advance the Christian faith To advan￿ education in accordan with Christian rinci les It is perhaps impjrtant to note that Lockdown 3 was in plao from 6 January to 8 March in this reporting year,. this meant no contact with children for the first part of the year and then an understandably very slow return for Schools Ministry Billericay (SMB) into some schools after that. Even during the lockdo￿ however. SMB continued to maintain contact vrith teachers and senior Staff. offering support from the Christian perspective wherever appropriate. SMB stayed in touch wilh children through online assemblies and lessons. Para 1.17 arhl 1.19 In line wrth our vision to make beneficial contributions to the wholeness of the school communty. SMB also contsnued to provide support through our local Food Bank. SMB Greated activity boxes for each Child in the families vtho accessed this servi￿. The Improving Futures (IF) Project vrfas started within this reporting period. We apwinted a Mentoring Coordinator who, On￿ trained, developed an extensive Safeguarding Policy before embarking on her search for volunteer mentors whom she later trained. The Coordinator met with pastoral staff from Iwo secondary schools who refe￿ed possible mentees and then she began the phase of matching mentors with mentees and meeting with the families of the mentees. Funding of £1,950 was obtained from two local organisations to cover some of the additional costs of this Project. One important word for the middle part of the nod is 'some'. We were able to

get back into some schwls, do some lessons, run s(xne lunchtime dubs, do some informal mentoring, some Schools Pastors sessions and lead some assemblies even though things could not fully be the way they used to be. In sprte of that, it v￿S excrting for SMB staff to be getting back to what th8y love best, engaging wÉth the children. From September, CovFd ￿StriCtIonS eased and SMB lrfe retumed to a more familiar pre- pandemic way of seNing our schools.
