Sawston u3a Trustees Annual Report 1[s t] August 2021 to July 2022 Objectives: To advance the education of the public and in particular the education of middle aged and older people who are not in full time gainful employment in the Sawston Area and its surrounding locality. The provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the object of improving conditions of life for the above persons in the interests of social welfare This is provided by group activities run by volunteers. These include sporting activities, games and educational talks. Which all members have an opportunity to attend. These activities whilst providing opportunities to participate in many past times also enable social interaction and the making of new friends, At the end of the year the bank balance stood at £23,046.80. This was judged sufficient to enable the organisation to continue as a going concern and also to replace or extend any equipment requirements. The u3a is funded by members subscriptions and held in a bank account in the Sawston u3a’s name. All payments must be authorised by two signatures of any three persons on the banking mandate. The charity is an incorporated association governed by a trust deed. The Trustees are members of Sawston u3a elected by the membership. The Charities name is Sawston Area u3a frequently known as Sawston u3a. The registered charity number is 1141150. Principle address is 4 Milner Close, Sawston Cambridge CB22 3JJ. The Trustees were.
