The charity is based at and is responsible for the management of Shaw Lane Community Sports Centre. The charity has a particular interest in supporting disadvantaged groups and people based in the Barnsley area.

To Provide In The Provision Of Facilities And Activities For Recreation Or Otherleisure Time Occupation For The General Public, In Particular But Notexclusively In The Metropolitan Borough Of Barnsley And Itsneighbourhood For Those Who Have Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Ofage, Infirmity, Disability, Poverty Health Or Social And Economic Circumstancesin The Interests Of Social Welfare With The Object Of Improving Theirconditions Of Life2. The Promotion Of Community Participation In Healthy Recreation Inparticular By The Provision Of Facilities For Playing Sports.3. To Advance The Education Of Young People Not Undergoing Formaleducation
