Habitats & Heritage's activities include bringing people together to learn about the environment and heritage, delivering projects which protect and enhance the local environment and heritage and encourage sustainable behaviour, and providing a capacity building service and representation for the local third sector in relation to environmental and sustainability issues.

Objects: 4(1) To Promote Sustainable Development For The Benefit Of The Public, Principally,but Not Exclusively, In South West London And Surrounding Areas, By:(a) Building The Capacity Of Third Sector Organisations Which Are Working On Projectswhich Aim To Achieve Sustainable Development For The Benefit Of The Public Byproviding Them With Support, Information And Services;(b) Promoting The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical Andnatural Environment, The Prudent Use Of Resources, And Sustainable Means Ofachieving Economic Growth And Regeneration; And(c) Advancing The Education And Awareness Of The Public In Subjects Relating Tosustainable Development And The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of Thephysical And Natural Environment And The Prudent Use Of Resources, And Promotingand Conducting Study And Research In Such Subjects, Provided That The Useful Resultsof Such Study And Research Are Disseminated To The Public At Large.4(2) To Promote, Organise And Facilitate Co-Operation And Partnership Workingbetween Third Sector, Statutory And Other Relevant Bodies In The Achievement Of Theabove Purposes Within The Area Of Benefit.4(3) For The Purposes Of This Article 4:(A) "Sustainable Development" Means Development That Meets The Needs Of Thepresent Without Compromising The Ability Of Future Generations To Meet Theirown Needs;(b) "Third Sector" Means Charities, Voluntary Organisations And Socialenterprises;(c) "Charities" Are Organisations Which Are Established For Exclusively Charitablepurposes In Accordance With The Law Of England And Wales; And(d) "Voluntary Organisations And Social Enterprises" Are Independentorganisations, Which Are Established For Purposes That Add Value To Thecommunity As A Whole, Or A Significant Section Of The Community, And Which Are Not Permitted By Their Constitution To Make A Profit For Private Distribution. Voluntary Organisations And Social Enterprises Do Not Include Local Government Or Other Statutory Authorities.
