Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
TO FURTHER SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
THE TRUSTEES PAY CONSTANT REGARD TO THE CHARITY COMMISSION’S GUIDANCE ON PUBLIC BENEFIT WHEN PLANNING THE CHARITY’S ACTIVITIES.
ANY CHILD FROM BIRTH TO AGE 21 YEARS IS ELIGIBLE FOR OUR ASSISTANCE REGARDLESS OF PERSONAL BACKGROUND, FAITH, GENDER, OR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

OUR MISSION IS TO ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERING AND VULNERABILITY CAUSED BY POVERTY, HUNGER, DISABILITY, HOMELESSNESS, WAR, NEGLECT, AND THE PHENOMENA OF HIV/AIDS WHICH ORPHANS MILLIONS OF INNOCENT CHILDREN.

Section D Achievements and performance THE GLOBAL CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC SEVERELY AFFECTED Summary of the main OUR CHARITY’S OPERATIONS, HALTING THEM ALMOST ENTIRELY achievements of the FROM MARCH 2020 TO DECEMBER 2021. THIS SADLY charity during the year ENGULFED OUR TENTH YEAR AS A CHARITY REGISTERED WITH THE COMMISSION - A YEAR ANTICIPATED TO BE ONE OF GREAT CELEBRATION WAS INSTEAD SPENT IN FEAR. THE PANDEMIC CONTINUES TO AFFECT ASPECTS OF OUR OPERATIONS AND MEMBERS OF OUR TEAM. IN CERTAIN AREAS THE CHALLENGES OF 2020 HAVE GROWN, PROBLEMS HAVE BECOME MORE ENTRENCHED, AND INEQUALITY HAS WIDENED ACROSS SOCIETIES, PUTTING MORE PRESSURE ON OUR SERVICES WHILST WE STRUGGLE TO RAISE THE FUNDS NEEDED TO DELIVER THEM. HOWEVER, WE ARE NOW RE-EMERGING AND CELEBRATING THE SLOW RETURN OF FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES. WE NERVOUSLY PLANNED FOR OUR FIRST OUTDOOR FESTIVAL TO RETURN IN SEPTEMBER 2021 AND WE SUCCEEDED WITH OUR ‘PARTY IN THE PADDOCK’, ENTERTAINING 500 REVELLERS AND RAISING ALMOST £10,000. MOVE IT LONDON ALSO MADE ITS BIG COME BACK IN MARCH 2022, THE FIRST ONE SINCE 2019, AND ONE MONTH AFTER THE UKRAINIAN WAR BEGAN. WE WERE PROUD TO COLLABORATE WITH 30 UKRAINIAN DANCERS WHO PERFORMED ON THE HUGE MOVE IT STAGE, AND HELPED US RAISE OVER £5000 FOR UKRAINIAN CHILDREN. THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND WE WERE HONOURED TO HOST A TEAM FROM THE BBC WHO MADE A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT OUR DANCERS AND OUR MISSION TO ALLEVIATE THE SUFFERINGS OF WAR WITH MOVE IT WHICH AIRED ON THE ONE SHOW IN APRIL 2022. FEW OTHER EVENTS HAVE RESUMED INCLUDING THOSE OF THE MANY PARTNERS FOR WHOM DANCEAID WAS/IS ‘OFFICIAL CHARITY’. SOME ARE UNSURE IF THEY WILL RETURN TO LIVE EVENTS, SOME WILL/ARE BUT WITH FEWER EACH YEAR. OUR FUNDRAISING INCOME HAS FALLEN FROM £80,000 IN 2019 TO £35,000 IN 2021, AND HAS NOW RECOVERED SLIGHTLY TO £54,000. THIS FALLS FAR SHORT OF OUR £100K TARGET FOR OUR TENTH ANNIVERSARY YEAR BUT MOVE IT HAS HELPED PUT US BACK ON THE MAP AND WE CONTINUE TO HARNESS THE SUPPORT OF THE DANCE COMMUNITY AND BEYOND.
WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO RECEIVE THE SUPPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT’S JOB RETENTION (FURLOUGH) SCHEME WHICH HAS ALLOWED OUR PAID MEMBER OF STAFF TO CONTINUE WITH US THROUGHOUT THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME. THIS GOVERNMENT SUPPORT ENDED IN SEPTEMBER 2021.
WE ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED THAT OUR REGULAR MONTHLY DONATIONS HAVE INCREASED FROM £5000 2018-19 TO £6000 2019-20, TO £7000 2020-21, AND TO £8710 2021-22, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO INCREASE THIS MODE OF FUNDRAISING.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
UNRESTRICTED FUNDS HELD AT THE END OF THIS FINANCIAL YEAR ARE MAINTAINED FOR FUTURE AND ONGOING PROJECTS.
WE INTEND TO KEEP A MINIMUM OF £30,000 OF UNRESTRICTED FUNDS (REDUCED FROM £35,000 DURING THE PANDEMIC) TO FUND PROJECTS FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR, AND TO COVER UNFORESEEN EXPENDITURE INCLUDING EMERGENCY FUNDING IN THE CASE OF PANDEMICS AND NATURAL DISASTERS.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/06/2022.
- Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or

the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
