Trustees have adopted the provTsions of Accountitvj and Reporbng by charit￿s.. Statèment of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their aCCOLtnts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standafd applicable in tho UK
and Republic of IrelaThJ IFRS 102} {effective 1 January 20191.
OBJEcnvES AND ACTivmES
Objectlves and aims
The principal purpose of the charity is lo advance the Christian faith. accordirg to the principles of Ihe Baptist
denomination. including the advancement of education. community seTrice and other such genèral charitable purposes
in the United Kingdom and the wodd. as determined by the Church. In order to achieve this principal objective, the
Church provides a variety of activities t¥)th to its n￿bershiP and to thtr cclnmunity 98nerally. The aim is to d8mon8lrdle
the love of God in words and acb'ons.
C¢nlral lo ihe work of th& Church is the prowsion of regular servtss of Christian %w)rship. These take place In the Chapel
on a Sunday momino las advertised thg ¢hurch, on the int8mei and the lor21 Community Diary), and streaming
lo Zoom for those who a￿ unable to be physically wesent owing to ill health. Sunday morning services include $pecif*c
provision for chIld￿n and young peO￿e in appropriale groups. The Church rs commirted to being wel¢oming and
friendly towards all mambers of the community and to thal eThJ holds a irfKe a month 'Haven Sunday. Serv￿ which is
modelled on our wellbeing spacelsee below).
For the growth of faiih and d18¢ipleship. th8 Church ￿ld8 a 8mall numt*r of small groups, nomialty In the homes of
mernbers. A group fof secondary schr￿ aged ¢hddren whth induijes young peopl& from oth&r larbd nol churches has
met on Wednesday evenings in Haverfordw6St.
In order to enable the lulfilmènt of Ihe charit¢s principal objeclives. members are en¢ourJ98d to volunteer their gifts,
abilllies ant1 lime. They duly share in the actrvili6$ of Ihe Church. alongside the Minister. in act1vil￿$ such as 18ading
public worship and small groups, children's work, pasloral care. missK)n, 8nd mainlaining the propèty of the Church in
wh+ch m68lings are held land gravoyardl. Th8 Church 1$ also responsible for the Help Charity Shop In a nearby village
which Is staffed by volunteefs Irom Church and local c(xnmunity and ￿1¢h generate$ money for charitsble causes in
the United Kin￿Orn and abroa(J. The H81p Charity Shop also provRJes a valuable 'megliro place, for ils neighbourhood,
especlally lor those who are vulneratAe. The Haven, a weekly aftemoon wellbeing cafo in the chapel (run in associatlon
with nalional ¢harity Renew Wellboin9} has continued to operate in 2024. Thi$ offers a spactr where It i$'ok not lo be ok,.
All actlvllies of the Church operate in line Safeguarfing Pol￿1eS and PrfKedures in¢ludirtrg ihe requirement that all
who work with children and vulnerable adults are appropnalely vetted with regard to the t*s¢1ts5ure and 8arTing Service.
In addibon. th8 Church is active￿ involve(J in ¢onshlerin9 its r85pon8e to issues $u¢h as racism, the cllmatg crisis and
other ju81ice issu8s lincluding being a Fairtrade Church). Thi$ is in line wih ouf commitment lo being welcoming to all
and taking 8&rtously a reSpon￿bIl￿ to acc4)mpany that commitrnent adon.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Th8 Church does not measurtr the success of rts pmgrammes only in numbers, ir￿lUdIr￿j ffinancial numbers, bul 8180 in
1gs$ tsngible areas Ilke lelbwship and ew)urwJemenl. Thfy Trusiees recognise that these are difficull to measure, bul
believe that 2024 was a kX)*Dve year in th8 lile of the Church.
During the year several nèw families began to join u$ on Sundays. One commiited member d￿, and (x)ntsct continued
¥Mth a large number of regulars who ara nol formally members, IKJI are considèred part of tl)e Church. Nijmbers
rern8ined steady on Sund8y$ and Tnjstees encouraged by the way5 in which thg Church had con￿'D￿ed to sustain
wotship and support of each other and the commLmty. Vacanaes romained on the Trnstee Board and fycruilment offorts
continu8d.
Community eThJagemenl conlinued throughout year. especraNy Ihrough The Hav8n aTrJ the Help Charity Shop. The
Remembrance Service lin collaboration with Broad Haven School) and Candlelil Carols continued to be well supptsrted.
The church garden is no longer used by the Play9roup meeting in Ihe adjoiniryJ Vlllage H811 who have moved to new
premises bul the garden remains open io all in the community. In addib"on, the Playgroup h85 continuad lo make use ol
the chapel building f￿ speeAal (xxasons such as Christmas and to $upport the dèvglopment of the children through
leaming about the work of thè chapel and christs.an festNals. A four day holiday club was held during the summer
holhyays. with over fvlenty chikI￿rt from Ihe bcal community corn1￿j to th& Church for a variety ofactivities.
