for Ino managing the staff and confjnues to support the Clwrch Councll In many ways.
A Circult Faclllttes and Communty Managgr was appointed in March 2024 and ha$ rthv t8ken over all op8ralonal
and property management responsibilities. Includlng Ihg line management of our ￿r￿takIng team ond thlitionally
acts as our bookings Sgcrgtsry overseeirffJ aN room boO￿n9$ and working hard to Increase our Income fr(4n thEs.
A part-llme Circuit Volunteer C¢>tydinatorwas appoinl8d in February 2024 and supported The Crosslng
vclunteer reCruits￿ent, support and tralning. The appointment was fvlly ftjnded for one year only and solgft our
employment In March 2025.
Volunte¢rlng
The Volunt88r Cwrdlnator post was onlyfunded until March 2025. We havè ￿ amazing voluntegrs spend
nearty as much 15m8 worklng al Th8 Crossing as they are at home.
Wg have complled 8115t of volunteers and the hours they have workeil. There are scmo that work from home and thls
Is not Induded In the total of 2.310 voknnteer hours from January to AU￿$1 of 2025.
During 2024125 wg Inte￿IeWed 8nd dld over 30 DBS C￿kS for Feople wanting to loin the volunleerfng team. Not all
of the appointments wore successfully taken up or the vc4untger lrfed it for a fow week8 and then left.
We dld have some new vclunteers who $18rted on the Welcome Desk aThJ Ihgn monaged to find a fulkllmeiob. Our
thanks go lo them forthe lime they spent us.
We managed to gel some excellent rthv voluntsfjr$ who are n#Y￿ holplng the treasurer wtth finan￿. We are

Desp￿0 thè large number quoted above. we are still desperate for volunt88rs for th8 church In pgsitions suth as on
U)e Church Coun¢H. Church Stewards, on the Wel¢om8 Desk and to do otherjobs around th8 church. The café is the
one place peopte (kn seern to Onjoy volunteering. The AV desk opgratots could also do with some extra hands.
Every Ihree month8 a rota oflobs Is ¢omplled for Sunday moming and sometimes we SO￿ to need a magc wand.

Our txfé space Is ideally pla¢ed for lots of events vthere we can provtde refreshments in somo way. We have
lovety team of café volunteers provlding ddnks, cakes. light lunches. buffets otc thmughout th8 year.

- Every Wednesday a coffee momlrffj In partnershlp the staff and students from tho North Notts
Collggo Flex Team {10am to 2pm). Servkng hot ddnks, cakes and santhSch8$. This IS 8 valuable
ex8rase for the Flex Team who use It as a tralnlng course for the students, glvlng them skills that
an be transferred lo the workpLgce or￿e th&y leave college.

team of voluntaars. some coma every week and sorr* on a rots bas15. We are now so busy th81
we realty need 4 or 5 people each week.

Espres￿ machine and thorsfo￿ can offer Barfsta tralnlng for tsur volunteers (We do nggd ong or two more who
are ￿llIng to lèam this skill for coffea momings and SF•clal events).
Wa have a wondethjl team of cake bakers who provide de1￿￿0￿S home mad8 Cakes for all of the at(*v8 oc¢a$M)ns.
Warni Spaces. W•lcomo Space#
We have COn￿nUed to keep open th8 café space on Frtday aftemoons. 12.30pm to 3.30pm. We offer drfnks,
cakes. toast. sandwlches, fruit and pol noodles. In the hot weather we have also supphed ice lollies.
The footfall has Inrygased and we often have 30 ty more'wstffftfs.. We do ￿t charge for refreshments, but
do ask for a voluntary donatlon where po851ble. We hava rnany regular visitors, mostly people In need.

by m8mb8r8 of the Church Cou￿11. btrt the seNl¢es themselves are very varied utilising the grfts and skills
of those WM) are willlng lo lake part. Thes8 seThlces aifow an opportunity for those who fsel able lo tske 8

to greater Invc4vemènl.
DurlrrfJ thls yearwe have begun the pr8Ctlce of a qu8rterty Teanme Praise- on a Sunday aftemoon at 3pm,
followed by aftemoon lea. Thls Is particuLqrty popular wlth members who find it difficull to get out In 8 mornlng.

Ahht)ugh'Elvis' has hung up hls bluo suede shoès and is no long8r abl& toJoln us on Wednèsday and we
have welcomed some new entertalners who have proved very popular. Our spadal thanks gts to Denlsè and
Ro9gr Marsdon, Russell Weaver and Annie Fotheiingham who are stalwart regulars.
The Christmas party 1$ alwayB the highlight of th? >par and we are busy preparkng for thls. W9 contlnue to
depend on donation$ and are very gratefijl for th8 rafflg prfzgs arKi small item5 for the £1 stsll whSoh 8
provid￿ by members of congregation.
We 8r& veryfortunate to havo b8en 8wardad 8 grant from Home Instsad and Iwa to use this to fund a vlsll
from"Our Demenlia Choirf. (as sean on TV).

We were vary gralefvl that (￿8 agaln wt obtainod a substsntkql donatbon from thè Foresters Frfendly SLxl•ty
whlch enabkd us lo fill 100 boxes for thè link to Hope" Charity. The gBnerosNy of our Congregation and
suiwters m88nt that wo were able to glve £300 towards the Iransport costs.
Our thoughts atKI pr8yers are ￿th all of the families who recelve, not only ours. but all boxes donated throu
lova. Many thanks to all who helped dolng ShOp￿n9, packlNJ and WTapping and helping to brirg a smlle lo so
many p8ople In nged.
Thurnfay Group
The Thursday Group continues to be a rr￿￿n9 enjoyed by ladies whether they are memb9rs of The Crosstng
or not. all ladi8s ar* welcome.
The moèling usually starts with a short time of devotion led by one of th8 commttleo mombgr$. This is followed
by vodous act￿￿108 which coukl be a spaakfjr, quLzzes. games or a ￿ng song or any other actlvlty suggested
by members.
In the past year we have enjoyed soveral speakers on v8rfous subjects. a vislt to thg Food Bank to s88 th&
voluntgafs there in 8Ctlon, an aftemoon out for tea al the Dukeries Garden Centre and ol course a Christma¥
lunth ot the Stsuon Hotel.

We pay a subscripllon of £5 three times yoar to cover expenses and anythlnglgft over 18 gfven to The
Crossing Church. We have 8 voluntary charlty box available al m68tlng and members vote on ihe
charity they wish to support 81 the end of the year. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursd8y of each month

The Crossing Church had a loan from Trinty Circuit building the church, the amount still outstandlng at
the year end was £ 11,102 {2024 - £11.1021 the loan is dug on demand, hO￿er, there Is no specrfic
repayment date and no interest is being charged.
A further loan was recewed from the Trinty Circuit for £13.000 in December 2020 towards property repairs. This
is being repaid at £100 per monlh. The amount outstandlng at the year end was £7,400 (2024 - £8.600).

The church operates within the limlts of its available cash resources and bud8ets are set by the church
council each year. The church council has reviewed its position under the current difficult circumstances
and ha5 concluded that the organisation remains a 80in8 concern. Further work is needed, to evaluate
and plan for the medlum to loftg term in order to develop a strategy that will enable the church to provide
an effective presence whhin the community and remaln within its budgeted expenditu￿.
