In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustee meetings.

To ensure that the projects the Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation (AWTF) fund are targeted and delivered in a way that will really make a difference, we worked in partnership with representatives of the local community to support children in London. We partnered with local charities and organisations including local food chains for supply of vegetables and bread to support a community center food bank.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

The impact of the Covid 19 Pandemic continued leading to increasing demand for the provision of the basic needs of food and clothing that vulnerable children and adults lack and so the food bank activities in N London became the main focus. Nevertheless, we have also continued to fund projects for children who have a passion for or ability in a certain area, require extra tuition or need a break from very challenging home circumstances.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

1. AWTF raised an additional £82,205 and made charitable payments of £14,080 as well and financing the costs of running the food bank of £74,109 where the demand has continued to increase with food being provided for around 1000 people per week. Costs now had to cover the purchase of much of the essential food items previously received through food donations. However, despite this, AWTF ended the year with a bank balance of £69,863.

2. AWTF also received £168,214 in restricted donations and £175,738 was disbursed according to the wishes of those providing the donations. This was related to assisting vulnerable children and their families with food, clothing and other areas of essential support.

3. AWTF continued to increase its support from the local community, mainly for getting volunteers to help in running the food bank and collecting and delivering food.

4. AWTF ’ s activities focused on supporting a community centre and foodbank in N London, in addition to assisting vulnerable children and their families in South London.
