TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] SEPTEMBER 2021
The Trustees have the pleasure of presenting their annual report together with the accounts for the year ended 30[th] September 2021.

OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
The objectives of Evangelical church of new Jerusalem are:

To congregate and worship God in an approved Christian manner
-
To promote the knowledge and doctrine of Christianity as contained in the Holy Scriptures
-
To support and subscribe to any charitable institution or purpose in the furtherance of the church’s objectives
-
To pay for any property, right, privileges or concessions acquired by the church
-
To consecrate water and oil for members and other believers for complete healing from all types of serious illness and diseases
-
To promote or assist in the promotion of ecclesiastical organisation
DEVELOPMENT, ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
The charity is committed and is successfully ministering to the needs of the various social groups within and outside the Church. The charity provides forum for manpower development for its members to be equipped educationally, socially and spiritually. To enable the charity to meet the needs of every age group there are different forums created:

(i) The Children Church – for children ages 3 - 12
-
(ii) Youth Group - Ages 13 – 20
-
(iii) The Singles Fellowship – unmarried males & females from age 21
-
(iv) The women’s fellowship – for all married women
-
(v) The Men’s group – for all married men
-
(vi) The Elders’ Forum – for all men & women aged 50 and above These groups meets monthly to fellowship together, discuss and encourage one another on issues (socially and spiritually) peculiar to the respective groups.

They are also given a day in the year to demonstrate their impact and create an awareness to the Church.
To meet the spiritual needs of the members and the development of the total man, Believers’ class, Workers training classes were run during the year. Water baptism was conducted during the year for people that gave their lives to God and passed through the necessary teaching class.
We sent financial support to other charities and also actively and strongly support the Any evangelical group in need of our help.
To relief poverty, the Charity has a welfare scheme where people's need are met physically and financially in additional to the spiritual assistance given.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
The charity aims as part of fulfilling its objectives to create more facilities and programs that will help develop the whole man, spiritually, mentally and physically. We aim to also increase our relevance to the community by investing time, energy and money into activities and programmes that will help prevents youth crimes, depressions in people, child abuse and such social vices that are eating deep into the fabric of our society.
REVIEW OF FINANCIAL POSITION
Please refer to the account for the details of the financial statements for the period ended 30[th] September 2021.
The charity’s principal funding source continues to be the individuals who attend services offered by the charity in terms of Sunday and midweek services.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES
The Charities Act requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the surplus or deficit of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are requested to:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions in part 15 of the companies Act 2006 applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
For the year ending 30th September 2021 the company was entitle to exemption from audit under section 480 of companies Act 2006.

1. Accounting Policies
These accounts have been drawn up on the basis of a going cocern and the financial statements prepared under the historical cost convention in accordance with applicable standards, Financial Reporting Standards and the Charities Acts 1992 & 1993. The statements comply with best practice and reflect the requirement of the revised statement of Recommended Practice (SORP 2) ''Accounting for Charities'
The charity has taken advantage of the exemption of Financial Reporting Standard No 1 from the requirements to produce a cash flow statement on the ground that it qualifies as a small charity.
Recognition of Income and Expenditure
Income and Expenditure are recognised on an accrual basis. Donation and legacies are accounted for as received and accrued only when a value can be established before payment is received.
Unrestricted/General Fund
Revenue grants and other income and expenditure associated with the genaral operations of the the charity deal with in the unrestricted and general fund.
Endowment Fund
There is currently no endowment fund.
