The charity is registered by trust deed dated 25 January 2011. The charity is the trust allied to the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia (“The Club”). The club is affiliated to Rotary International (RI).
The objects of the charity are to raise money in order to make grants aligned to the objectives of The RI Foundation, the Rotary Charity, for example the relief of poverty, Improvement in health, education etc.
Currently our principal income is generated from two projects: The Lincolnshire Sausage Festival, held in October, and the Santa Fun Run held in December. Other projects are undertaken from time to time, and donations are accepted from members and others. While the main two projects do generate significant income, there are also significant costs to meet, for example marshalling, barriers, lighting, signing, suits and venue costs. Projects are carefully managed to ensure the generation of sufficient net income.
Our membership has reduced over the previous five years from the high thirties to the low twenties. Projects continue to draw on the assistance of family members and friends. No member or volunteer is paid.
Donations are decided by the club after undertaking examination at both committee and council level, followed by a club member vote.
