Activities

The charity supports the operation and improvement of Herne Hill Velodrome, and the long term development of activities for public benefit on the siteAs well as managing specific improvement projects such as the Southwark Olympic Legacy Project, the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust works on a day to day basis to increase participation at the track.

Objects: 4.1 The Company Has Been Established For Public Benefit To:4.1.1 Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Individuals Who Have Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disability, Financial Hardship Or Social Circumstances With The Object Of Improving Their Condition Of Life Including But Not Limited To The Provision Of Facilities At The Herne Hill Velodrome; And/or4.1.2 Promote Participation In Healthy Recreation Including But Not Limited To Cycling; And/or4.1.3 Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Facilities At (but Not Exclusively) The Herne Hill Velodrome For The Use By The Public At Large Without Distinction Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions Including Use For Meetings, Lectures And Classes And Other Forms Of Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life; And/or4.1.4 Educate The Public At Large Of The History Of The Herne Hill Velodrome, Cycling In The 1948 Olympics And/or The Significance Of The Olympic Movement And Legacy For Cycling Generally; And/or4.1.5 Advance Citizenship And Community Development; And/or4.1.6 Such Other Charitable Purposes Consistent With The Above And The Charities Act 2006 As The Trustees In Their Absolute Discretion Shall Determine (together The "objects").
