Achievements and performance
-
Summary[ofthe][ man] . 1. TheButoke, Charity’sa non-governmental activities in 2025organisation were exclusivelyin the toDemocratic make grants to achievements of the charity Republic of the Congo ("DRC” during the year P go ( ) 2. Butoke operates in the Western Kasai region of the DRC. The Western Kasai lacks infrastructure: metalled roads are few and far between and state run educational and health facilities are of poor quality and/or not accessible to those living in poverty.
-
Butoke has a particular interest in the rights of women and girls who are often marginalised by society and treated as having fewer rights than men and boys.
-
Against this backdrop the main achievements of the Charity this year have been to part fund educational and health facilities which are accessible to even the poorest residents of the area in which Butoke operates and also to part fund a project to assist the victims of rape — the “Elsa Corp Justice Project”.
-
As in previous years, the Justice Project has worked with a number of impoverished rape victims. It has provided them with the necessary legal and medical assistance, and has also assisted them with clothing, food and, where necessary, relocation.
-
This year the Charity also made a one off grant of $1250 to help Butoke pay for complicated surgery required by the victim of a mining accident who would have otherwise faced having one of his feet amputated.
