Responsibilities of trustees
As explained more ful￿ in the Trustees, Responsibilitles Statement set out on page 7 , the Trustee5 (who are also
dlrectors of the charity for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for the preparation of thè financial
statements and for being Satisfied that they give a irue and fair view, and for such internal control as the Trustees
determine is necessary to enable the preparation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement,
whether due to fraud or error.
In preparing the financial statements. the Trustees are ￿sponSible for assessing the group'5 and charity'5 ability to
continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going concern and using the going concern
basis of accounting unless the Trustees either intend to liquidate the group or the charity or to cease operations, or
have no realistic alternative but to do so.
Auditorfs responsibilitie5 for the audll of the financial statements
Our objertiVe5 are to obtain reasonable assurance about whèther the financlal statements as a whole are free from
material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditorfs report that includes our opinion.
Reasonable assurance is a high level of a55uran¢e, but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted In accordance wlth
ISAS IUKI will always deted a materia1 misstatement when it exists. Mi55taternents can arise from fraud or error and
are considered material if. individually or in the agEre8ate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the
economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these financial statements.
Irregularlties, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws an(1 regulations. We design procedures In
line with our responsibilitie5, Outlined above, to detect material misstatements in Te5pect of irre8ularities, including
fraud. The extent to which OLbr procedures are capable of detecting irregularilies, including fraud is detailed below.
Our assessment of the susceptibiltty of the charity's financial statements to material misstatement, including how fraud
might occur, is considered to be low. This concluslon was reached after the consideration of the following..
due to the relatively simple business model and relatively low number of transactions within the charity there are
comparatwely few unexpected fluctuations in the reported results and balances and any Such unexpected itern5
would be specifically enquired into by us,. and
there are a number of individuals which cornprise"management" and therefo￿ ihere is no 5in8le individual who
is likely to be able to override controls to effert a fraud.
We designed our audit procedure5 to respond to identified audit risks. including non-complSance wlth laws and
regulations lirregulailtiesl that are material to the financial statements. Some of the specific procedures performed to
detect irregularities, including fraud, are detailed below-
the review of control accounts and journal entries for large or unusual activities,.
the analytical revbew of the statement of financial activf(ies for variances that are eitherunexpected or considered
not to be in accordance with our understanding of the charitable activities durlng the year,.
obtaining and revlewing for completeness a list of entries and persons considered to be relate(i partie% las defined
by Financial Reporting Standard 1021 and reviewing the ledgers of the charlty for previously unreported related
party transactions:
review of transactions and journals for any indication of management overrlde or bias,. and
review of Trustee meeting minutes for unrecorded transactions.

Because of the inherent limitations of an audil, there is a risk thal we will not detect all irregularities, including those
leading to a material misstatement in the financial statements or non-compliance with regulation. This risk increases
the more thai cornpliance with a law or regulatKJn is removed from the events and transartions reflected in the

Expenditure
Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related
to the category. Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation
committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in
settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to
particular headings they have been allocated to activitie5 on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year-end date are noted as a wmmitment but
not accrued as expenditure. Grants payable to third parties are within the charitable oblectives. Where unconditional
grants are offered, this 15 accrued as soon as the recipient is notrfied of the grant, as this gives rlse to a reasonable
expectation that the recipient will receive the grants. Where granis are con(Iltlonal relating lo performance then the
grant Is onty accrued when any unfulfilled conditions are ovtsi(le of the control of the charity.
