Achievements and performance

It was through a wish to concentrate solely on the educational and social benefits of music, drama and dance in schools that we originally created Arts Insight, so that a charity could exist to roll out a programme of highquality music and performing arts-based workshops throughout the UK which was inclusive for all young people.

Arts Insight continues to bring a wealth of experience within the music and drama education industry spanning a period of over 15 years. Our freelance creative practitioners still work with and alongside the most prominent artistic institutions and artists as musicians, composers and performers themselves, in conjunction with providing their first-class talent, experience and expertise with Arts Insight and the young people the charity works with.

As our charity has evolved and since recovering from the impact of Covid-19 on our organisation, during which we established ‘Arts Inside’ an online creative learning platform, where young people could access creative learning material, stimulus and classes online, we now deliver an extensive programme of local and national work.

Our national workshops, involves our team of theatrical practitioners bringing one of Arts Insight’s original musicals into primary or SEN schools. Over the course of the workshop the students are given the technical and life skills to prepare them for a series of public performances at the end of the workshop. Given more time and during our longer workshops, the entire school and their staff become a theatre, comprising not only the performers, but all the backstage departments too, including, set, costume and marketing teams. This enables us to introduce this young and impressionable age group to an early insight into vocational training. Whilst focusing and celebrating the themes of our original shows, which we write to be current, educational and socially relevant. Arts Insight workshops create an environment where every young person will be pushed to excel beyond what is generally expected of them on a typical school day. The children are

encouraged to develop their ability to communicate, to work as a team, to be spontaneous and to be professional, all of which help those involved to grow in confidence over the course of the 2–5-day process.

Since 2021, we increased our creative output in our home county of Warwickshire by introducing more afterschool performing arts provisions in local primary schools, tutoring many students in Lamda Exam preparation both in and out of schools. Finally creating Arts Insight Youth Theatre, where we promote the value of the arts whilst celebrating the positive impact it has on all young people from every background, age and ability that engage in it. We currently work with over 200 children a week and our portfolio of work ranges from 10-minute to 180-minute Musicals, Plays and Multi-Media Performances. We use theatre and performing arts as the vehicle to teach, nurture and introduce all our members to essential life skills that are transferable to every part of their education and lives now and in the future. Specialising in new writing, we pride ourselves on making thought provoking original theatre that is relevant and engaging, not only to the young people performing it, but to the audiences of all ages watching it.

The strategies employed to achieve the charity’s aims and objectives are to:

Fundraise: By researching and applying to local and national trusts, government schemes and corporate funding who donate an amount that allows us to deliver our workshops at no cost to the school that takes part. We also fundraise to give our Youth Theatre, which accepts new members all year round, the chance to perform an original full-scale production in a professional working theatre once a year. All of our classes are offered at a heavily subsidised rate, to ensure our work is available to all and in the cases where this is unaffordable, we finally fundraise to provide full and part bursaries to those that need them.

Promote: Through our website, social media, phone and email communication and finally word of mouth led by us and encouraged through our community of families we work with on a weekly basis.

Deliver: As many workshops that we receive funding for, throughout the school year to as many schools though out the UK. Deliver as many classes as possible, finally we aim to produce multiple small performances and one large scale annual performance with the largest number young people throughout the school year and during some school holidays.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions for small companies under section 419(2) of the Companies Act 2006.

This report was approved by the Trustees on 20[th] October 2025 and signed on its behalf by MF Macvie

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Arts-Insight

I report on the accounts for the year ended 31st December 2024 set out on pages 4 to 10.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiners

The charity’s trustees (who are also the directors of the charity for the purposes of company law) are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is required.

It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioner under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioner. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and the seeking of explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below:

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
