Aims and Purposes
Our Aims and Purpose continue to be the provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of inhabitants of Beckford, Worcestershire and the surrounding area without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for: a) meetings, lectures and classes, and b) other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
Achievements and Performance
In a difficult year when the Hall was closed for most of the time because of Covid the plans to refurbish the hall have continued and the building work is under-way.
Financial Review
During this financial year the Village Hall closed from: 20th March 2020 to 5th September 2020
11th November 2020 to 31st March 2021 The hall was open for hire 63 days in total during the 2020/21 financial year.
The income derived from hiring of the hall/fields and facilities are down from £14k last year to £2k this year on a like for like basis. Including the income from KEYS, occupying the Old Social Club premises, income is £7k this year vs £14k last year a 50% reduction.
Grants and funding received during the year has helped the Village Hall enormously. Covid grants and funding for phase 2 and phase 3 projects total £87k and it is for this reason the accounts for the village hall look healthy. The accounts show a surplus of £25.8k during the year this is all due to the Covid grants received and funding for projects undertaken.
