a. CONSTITUTION
The Uncle Bill Trust is conststuled by a Trust Deed made in ¢)ctober 2010 and is a registered charity, number
1139577.
The charity is Controlled by its goveming document, a d8ed of trust, and conslilule$ an unincorporated charity.
b. METHOD OF APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
The management of the charity is the responsibility of Ihe Trustees who are elected and ctropled under the
term$ of the Trusl deed.
e. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE AND DECISION MAKING
In setting the charity's policy and planning ils activities. the Trustees have given careful consideration lo the
Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit.

that the aims and objectives of the charity, and the aciivrties reported on below to achieve those aims, meet

. REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES
The charity made gifts of £55,570 12022.. £48,249) lo various charities for public benefit purpose5 in the year.
The main achievement during the year has been the provision of charitable donations to various local and
national charities.
Financial review
a. RESERVES POLICY
The Charity's principal funder is the founder of the charity. Grant fvnding 1$ only committed after ¢on$ideratign of
the funds available after deducting njnning costs. The Trustees do therefore not consider il necessary or
appropriate lo hold significant free reserve5.
b. FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
The Charity's plans for the fvture are to continue to provide grants of a charitable nature to other UK registered
chanties taking into account the wishes of the founder.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. report and the finanrjal statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards {Unrted Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting
Praclicel.
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Truslees to prepare financial statements for
each financial year which give a true and fair view of the stale of affairs of the Charty and of rts incoming

I report lo the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31
December 2023.
Responsibilities and Basis of Report
As the Trustees of the Charity you a￿ ￿sponsible for the preparation ofthe accounts in accordance wf(h the
requirements of the Charits'es Act 2011 llhe 2011 Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Charrty's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my examination I have followed the appts"cable Direth"ons given by the Charity Commission under
section 1451511bl of the 2011 Act.

Your attention Is drawn lo the fact that the Charity has prepared the a¢¢ounls In accordance with Accounting and
Reporty'ng by Charities Stslemenl of Recommended Practice applicable lo Charities preparing their accounts in
a¢¢ordan¢e with the Financial Reporting Standard appli¢able in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 in
preference to the Accounting and Reporb'ng by Charibes.. Statement of Rewmmended Pra¢tice i$$ued on 1 April
2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has been wthdrawn.
l understand that this has been done in order for the accounts to provide a true and fair view in accordance
the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for repo￿.ng periods beginning on or after 1 January 2015.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attenb'on in conneth'on with the
examination giving me cause lo believe that in any material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by sects'on 130 of the 2011 Act., or
the accounts do not accord with those records,. or
the accounts do not comply wlh the applicable requirements conceming the form and conlenl of
accounts sel out in the Charrties (Accovnls and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement
that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent
examination.

This report is made solely to the Charity's Trustees, as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Charities

7XL. 11 has no Sha￿ capital. Ils principal ath'vity is lo provide gffts to charitable organisalions.
Ac¢ountlng pollcl•$
2.1 8asis of preparation of financial statements
The finanual statements have been prepared in accordance wth the Charits"es SORP IFRS 1021-
Accounting and Reporting by Charities". Ststement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities
preparing their accounts in accordance the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffecknve 1 January 20191, the Financial Reporting Stsndard
applicable in the UK and Republbc of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charits'es Act 2011.
The financial slalemenls have been prepared lo give a Irue and fair, view and have departed from
the Charities IAc¢ounts and Reports) Regulab"ons 2008 only lo the extent required lo provide 3 Irue
and fairf view. This departure has involved follo￿n9 the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 published in
October 2019 rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement ol Recommended
Practice effective from 1 April 2005 vthich has since been wthdrawn.
The Uncle Bill Trust meets the definition of a public benefft entty under FRS 102. A8$et$ and
liabilits'es are initially recognised at historical cost or transacts'on value unless olheNise slated in the
relevant accounting policy.
2.2 Golng conc•m
The charity has cash resources and has no requirement for extemal funding. The Iruslees have a
reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources lo continue In operational existence
for the f0￿See8b1e ftJIU￿. They continue lo believe the going concern basis of accounting
appropriate in preparing Ihe annual financial slatements.
2.3 Incomo
All income is ￿COgnised once the Chanty has enlrtlemenl to the income. il is probable that the
income wll be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
2.4 Expgnditur
Expenditure is recogni5ed once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit
to a third party. il is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be reqUI￿d in settlement and
the amount of the obligation G8n be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs
of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs
involved in undertaking each acts'vity. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly
lo that activity. Shared costs which contribule lo more than one activity and support costs which are
not attributable lo a single activty are apportioned between those activitie5 on a basis consistent with
the use of resources. Central stsff costs a￿ allo¢aled on the basis of b'me spent, and dep￿ciatiOn
charges allocated on the po￿On of the asset's use.
Expenditure on charitable activrties is incurred on direclly undertaking the activf(ies vthich further the
Chanty's objectives, as well as any associated support costs.

Grants payable are charged in the year when the offer is made except in those cases where the offer
is conditional. such grants being recognised as expenditu￿ when the conditions attaching are
fu￿illed. Grant$ offered subject to conditions which have not been mel at the year end are noted as a
commrtment, but not a¢¢rned a$ expendrture.
The names of the inslilubons receiving grants out of trust fijnds administered by the reporting charity
are not disclosed during the lrfelime of the founder or spouse, as provided by the Charities Act 2011.
All expenditure is inclusive of irrecoverable VAT.
2.5 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash 81 bank 8nd in hand includes cash and short-tem highly liquid investments with a short malurily
of three months or less from the t1ate of acquisitson or opening of the deposit or similar account.
2.6 Llabllltl•8 and provl8ions
Liabilities are recognised vknen the￿ 1$ an obligation al the Balance sheet date as a result of 4 past
event. il is probable that a transfer of economic benefit will be required in settlement, and the amount
of the settiemenl can be eslimaled reliably.
Liabilities are recogni$ed at the amount that the Charity anticipates it wll pay to settle the debt or the
amount it has received as advanced payments for the goods or services it must provide.
Provisions are measured at the best estimate of the amounts required to settle the obligation. Where
the effect of the time value of money is material. the provision is based on the present value of those
amounts, discounted at the pre-tax discount rale that ￿fie¢t$ the risks specific lo the liability. The
urwlinding of the discount is recognised in the Statement of financial activities as a finance ¢ost.
2.7 Flnanclal instruments
The Charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial
instruments. Basic financial inslrumenls a￿ initially ￿COgnised al transaction value and subsequently
measured at their settlement value the exception of bank loans which are subsequently
measured at amortised cost using the effeclive interest method.
2.8 Fund accounting
General funds are Un￿Stricted ftjnds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the general objectives of the Charity and which have not been designated for other
purposes.
