## **SHPVCS Trustees Annual Report – 2022 2023**

It has been a challenging year for the Service; emerging from the pandemic and the loss of a number of key volunteers. Our longstanding Chair Angela Newton sadly died during this period, as did Mike Robinson the Treasurer, and that, coupled with the resignation of the secretary, led to interim officers being appointed to oversee facilitating the business of the service, which under their guidance has continued to operate smoothly and safely.

The service operates over 13 parishes within the South Holland district and receives precept payments from them to finance the service and has a Service Level Agreement with South Holland District Council who also contribute to the funds. This enables us to subsidise the cost of transport to the end user, the patients.

The demand for the service has begun to improve although not yet operating at pre-covid levels. However, even with fewer drivers, currently 39, we have been able to continue to offer a high level of service.

Annual Miles covered during this period were 145,859, along with 5,237 patients assisted which shows an increase over last year of 4,294 mile and 205 patients. This is testament to the dedication of our volunteers and the trust and value placed in our Charity by patients using the services offered.

Work instigated on reviewing the constitution, begun by the late Angela Newton, is ongoing. Moving forward there is a lot of work to be done, not least to return to a full board of trustees with appropriate officers, but we are now in a stronger position to focus on moving the Service forward.
