return to work for GSC at regular intervals. 114 employed and freelants jobs were created in 2023
employing 70 females, 44 males, continuing our mission to create equal opportunities.
We are proLJd to have welcomed back some 8Ctors that have worked for us before, that are popular
with our audiences, but also some fresh new talent tDO.
ARTISTIC VALUES
GSC is a professional site-specffic theatre company. specialising in shak￿peare. Our approach places
the audience right at the heart of thè action, immersing them in the wortd of the play, thereby
demysttfying the legend that Shakèspeare is for an elite, educated few but rather is immediate and
a¢cessible to everyone.
At GSC we use diverse and unusual non-theatre venues to create dynamic and challenging
productions. From casles lo lakes, churches b pubs, our approach merges thè aLtdience and acting
space so that yDU're giveri a visceral. stimulating and, above all, unique theatre experience.
GSC produclons are fresh, fast and modem in their interpretation of Shakespeare, but always in thè
original text and never dumbed down.
Making the arts, and more specffically theatre and Shakespeare, accessible to a wider community, is
key to the work that we do and reaching socially isolated members of our community wth especially
tailored programmes of work, drawSng on the skill base of especialty selected practitioners and experts.
Creating theatre that is relevant and making productions of Shakespeare that arè rèflective of our times
is a core aim, and this year's production of Richard11 did that. choosing the tale of an ineffectual, corrupt
politi(31 leaderwho was morÈ interested in ego and parties gave us the opportunty to reflect on Jnodem
politics.

RAISING PROFILE AND MARKETING
The charity's profile continued to be raised through our main house productions, events and online
interaction.
It was becoming evermore clear thal a more user4riendly and robust ticket system was required for
GSC. In Septemberloctober 2023 the cha￿ty moved to a new ticketing platform, Tickets0￿e. This
platFom). an industry leading soknre, will enable more flexibility in ticket sales, more robust
reporting, and infinitely better CRM.
Ticketsolve do not charge for the development and migration of GSC'S existing customer base and
records. Nor are charges made against donations, supporter purchases (e.g. Friends), merchandise
or education classes. A discounted rate of 90p per ticket has been agreed as the commwion rate
purely against ticket sales alone.
In tandem, this meant the charity also moved to a new web host SplitPixel. who will also manage the
website's updates, maintenancè 2nd ¢ompliance. There is a signfficant increase in cost here from
£120 with Precision Systems to £357 with SplitPixel. However, the services offeréd from SplitPixel are
far outstretch those offered by the current host, including crucially the lèvel of support. They also did a
'clean' of the webslte to remove bugs and unnecessary cookies.

SUSTAINABILITY
Whilst GSC has always sought to be environmentally aware it was agreed in 2022 that thg charfty
needèd to create a Sustainabilty Policy. This policy will help GSC make crucial future planning
decisions, b8come a leadèr in our industy and ensure the charity is doing all it can lo be sustsinable.
