Aehicvcmcnts and performance
Whilst thc impact of Cavid this yew was less signifi¢ant than that of the previous year, it still signifi¢antly
affe¢ted our activities. Cricket ￿'aS the least affected activity, as it is able to cary out its activitie% outsid¢ or in
large spacial iiiternal areas. During the year, the coaches iiicluded a focus on incorporatiiig mental h¢alth and
wellbeing activitie% into the se%sions. All coaches were provided with T-shirts which di%played a positive
message, helping to motivate the participant%. Other activities during the year incliided a Famil}, Day and taking
the girls to a girls, only tournament, which provided them with the opportunity to comFete against other girls in
the local area. Our Lead Coach M'a5 also iiivited to speak on the Local BBC radio station about Faith and plan5
for FIQP'S first summer 5POrt5 festival. Iii addition to these activitie5, a Youth Leadership Prograinme was set
up to develop young people to become voliii)teers for the cricket club.
Basketball was unable to restart until September of 2021, due to the restrictions laid do￿￿ by the school in
whost premises w'e tsperate. Once it restarted. it was open tts juniors and seniors only in the first instance. Until
wt were able tts restart, the ¢oa¢hes produced a few videos of themselves demoi)stratii)¥ basketball drills, to
enable participants to toiitinue training at home. Despite attempting to hold our annual end of yeai Lelebratioi)
via Zoom, we were unable to do sts. Attempts weie also made to hold a competition amoi)gst all players to
create a logo for the club, however, due to low take up, this was postponed.
On the other hand. Faith Tours were unable to be delivered at all for ihe entire year; we did iry, several times to
get the Tours resthrted. but each lime had to cancel and begin once more with rebookings, due to perceived
spacing safety, issues in the travelling and ihe tours ihemselves, together with the fact thai schools were reluctant
to commit to extemal tours at all as they were preoccupied with recommencing normal full time education and
making up for lost time. We did however. in ?021. start taking bookings for the spring terni of 2022, and
making mosi of ihe necessary. preparation in order to restart then. This included rebuilding some of the Faith
Tours guiding ieams, and organising team training in order to restart in spring 2022 (which restart we did
achieve).
Fusion Youth Sin¥Tin¥. owing to the advantagFes of Zooin. and to its longstanding collaboration with the
Philhatynonia Orchestra s 'Hear and Now, project, was able to continue M'ith no gyap. They were selected for,
and funded by, the Reverberate Heritagle 'Take Over, progFramme, funded bj. EngFlisli HeritagFe and the Heritage
Fui)d. This continued in a project entitled 'Bedford's Caribbeaii Connectioi)s', ii)volving the young people in
exploring cultural and historical issues. relevant to Queens Park and links to the Caribbean community, Mho for
some years Mere largely based in Queens Park. The 'Caribbean Connections, project fjnished iii Jan 2021 with
the youi)g people presenting the project to ali audience via Zoom. Fusion was booked by various organisations
to sing at their events." Bedlord Creative Arts event in OL'tober,' in December the annual Christinas Tree festival
at St Paul's Church in Bedford and Tibbs Deinentia Fouiidation's Christmas Extravaganza. Fusioi) also took part
in the 'Freedom to Sing, event during refugee week. organised by 'Hear Me Out., an L)rganisation that brings
music to detained refugees and asylum seekers. During October, Fusion worked with Sinfonia Verdi, a vibrant,
fresh and innovaiive orchestra and OzzleBox. whose aims are to educate and entenain diverse groups of people
through human beat Lx)xing. Fusion had to leam 14 nursery rhymes. many of them unknown to them and was
then required to attend the recording studios at The Hat Factory in Luton to record the nursery rhymes to an
orchestral backing track. They were offered this opportunity in recognition of their quality of singing as a choir.
The children were very professional and enjoyed the experience, although Ihey enjoyed the McDonalds
afterwards just as much!

As a new collaboration, 01)e of our Trustees is actively involved with Bedlord Creative Arts IBCA), in 'Take

In July. Me took on a teinporary lull time Community Projeets Worker. who made very signifitai)t progress in
developing our social media presence. on Facebook and Twitter.. also on updating our website for FIQP,
together with redesigning our logo. This has significantly increased our attendance numbers at regular and ad
hoc events. She also organised, ai short notice, a Friday weekly children's holiday club in Queens Park
Community Centre during the summer holiday, which was very popular, and was statTed by FIQP personnel and
Trustees. Activities consisted of arts and crafts, sports and games and each session was fully subscribed.
In addition. we organised in August, again at short notice (owing to the changing Covid climate), a very
successful children's summer sports festival in the grounds of the Secondary School serving Queens Park. This
involved a very sirong attendance by people and groiips closel}, connected to Queens Park. including the
Member of Parliament, local councillors, the Police and Crime Commissioner. the High Sheriff, together with
our sporting partners Cricket East, our Basketball and Cricket coaches and Youth Empowerment participants.
Bedford Creative Arts and other local groups. A total of 53 young people participated in the sports festival.
These two summer events were a particularly usefvl stspping stone to getting our sports and music projects
nctioning properly again in September.
Our temporary Community Projects Worker left us in November and we were grateful to be able to quickly find
and employ a new Communitv Projects Co-ordiiiator. working three days a week. A significant new aspect of
her role was to concentrate on providing the adininistration needed for Faith Tours: this role had previously been
undertakeii almost entirelj. by a volunteer. She therefore focused iii her first few week5 With us on preparation to
reconitnence Faith Tour5 in 5pringF 2022.
Publlc benefll
The above purposes are clearly for public benefit as harmony in the diverse Climmunity benefits all of Queens
Park. All activities are open 10 all young people at very heavily subsidised fees. We use qualified coaches and

The trustees confiTm that tliey have complied with the reqiiirements of sectioii 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to
