**Objects:** THE MATTHEW DEAR FOUNDATION EXISTS IN HONOUR OF OUR BELOVED SON, MATTHEW, TO EDUCATE AND INFORM OTHERS ABOUT THE DANGERS OF A.P.E.D'S (APPEARANCE AND PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS) AFTER HIS OWN LIFE WAS, WE BELIEVE, CUT TRAGICALLY SHORT BY STEROID USE.  WE PROPOSE TO RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF PRESENTATIONS/LITERATURE AT SENIOR SCHOOLS/COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES AND THROUGH GYMS/SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUBS.  OUR AIM IS TO EDUCATE NOT JUST THE YOUNG, BUT THE PARENTS/CARERS AND COACHES ALIKE.
