## **CASTLE SCHOOL (CAMBRIDGE) CHARITABLE ASSOCIATION** ## **Registered Charity No. 1139105** ## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT** ## **FOR THE PERIOD 1[ST] AUGUST 2021 to 31[st] JULY 2022** ## **TRUSTEES:** Mrs Mary Langran Mrs Jane Elliott-Poxon Ms Ruth Jordan **Charitable Aims and Objectives:** - (1) To advance the education of pupils attending Castle School by providing educational assistance, facilities, support and services not normally provided by the Local Authority. - (2) To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for educational, recreational or leisure time occupation for the residents of Cambridgeshire in the interests of social welfare and the promotion of healthy living. ## **Management of the Charity:** CSCA is an ‘Umbrella’ charity managed by a Management Committee consisting of the three trustees, the Headteacher and School Business Manager of Castle School. ## **Brief Financial Overview:** ## **Receipts:** During this period the charity was in receipt of donations from a number of individuals, companies and charities in support of our aims. The school community also raised considerable sums with their fundraising activities. ## **Achievements:** During this period the charity were pleased to be in a position to provide grants for various resources and equipment for the school in support of our pupils continued learning. This included: - The expense of setting up and the continued licence costs associated with the provision of safe work experience opportunities within a retail environment; - Bike Project which included the purchase of a number of specialist bikes, their storage and safety equipment needed to make this activity safe and enjoyable for all pupils; - Choir development supported by external specialist; - Set up costs of 6[th] Form Enterprise café in support of our older pupils continued development of daily living skills; - The purchase of Sensory resources for Complex Needs pupils; - Support for the development of the outside playground at The Fields which is part of our Early Years provision. Our accounts also include the cost of our Parent Kind subscription which includes indemnity and public liability insurance. ## **Summary:** The trustees are pleased to report that this period was a highly successful time for CSCA and Castle School resulting in the need for this written report again.
