community. It provided access to knowledge ihiough the support of high-profile expert speakers

The Mother R¢)ots Community Ewagement Day took place on May 18th 2024 in the Totne5 Civic
Hall. We presented a mixed media Exhibition featuring k)cal artlsts. and explalnlng our own work

programrne of events. as dèscribed in our fundln8 application. alon8 with an Interartive Local Map

Totnes Cinema. This bfought together a new team of courbcll members. film makers, and hxal
ctivistS to put on an Insplrln8 event. Thls included a full day of WOfk5hops, film5. and Insplratlonal
talks. The event aims to brin8 people together through the shared love ol film and storytellin&
to explore way5 in which we can Ilve more sustalnably in these tlmes of chanse.
In the Morn1r￿ wè joined filmmaker$ and 4nlmators Emll60 Mula and Edson Acero for a free
workshop in stop rnotion anlmation. The afternoon Included two documentary films by Cornwall
Climate Care irKluding'Food for Thou8ht' and 'Under the Surface.. both of which were introduced
by the filmmaker Claire Wallef5tein. The third documentary was 'Drinkable River5'. whlch foifows
Li An Phoa as she 5els oul to walk the I￿th of the Rrver Meuse from s¢x•rce to sea. Prior to the
screenin& we heard from Arta SlnM)ns, representi￿% Friends of the DarL The dty drew towards Its
close wth Rob Hopklrfj Introduciw the film of the evenin8'Kln8 Coar.
The event was a sold•OUt su¢¢e55, enga8lng over 200 people and buudirw conffle¢tlons between Trr

to Create six raised bells for the childrerb of St John's School, BridEetown. We created the beds
from local larch. processed by Bartons, a solar powered sawmill. Each of six classes has its own
bed, and os 01 O(t 24 they ary all flourishing. We also partnered wlth the aimate Hub to put on a
Sted and Plant Swap whKh this year included some fun activities for thildren including drawin8
plant-in5pired chalk art. This was followed by a Eardenlng and food.8rowing Q&A session at the
Climate Hub, wilh 18 partlcipants. This was the first time we've run ihis parts'cular formaL and it
was highly succèssful in terms of knowledge-sharin8 and enthusiasm.
As summer unfolded. Incredlble Edlble were represented at The Future of Food Seminar. held in
the Civic Hall, presenting our work to approximately 280 part￿pant5, The conversation was at
times sobering. but olso a positive coll to arms lo people lo get irNolved in future food secur

events at our Sieamer Quay garden. seTvlng up food harvested from the 8arden. These were In
