REPORT for the year ended 31 March 2024 The Trustees submit their annual report and the financial statements of Litt18 Light (the charity) for the ended 31 March 2024 The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial statements of the charity comply with current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charity's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities" STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT a. CONSTITUTION The principal object of the charity are the relief of povety, sickness and distress and the advancement of education in particular but not exclusively by the 1) Provision of food, clothes, books, uniforms and school fees for orphans and children in poverty. 2) Purchas8 of medicine and payment towards full hospital bills for those in poverty. 3) Provision of wells and bore holes for very poor communities in the third world countries. 4) Buying and distributing food stuff and provision of grants to charities for homeless and refugees. b. METHOD OFAPPOINTMENT OR ELECTION OF TRUSTEES The management of the charlty is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elect8d and co-opted under the tenns of the trust deed. c. GOING CONCERN After making appropriate enquiries, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt the going concem basis in preparing the financi81 statements. TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES STATEMENT Thè Truste8 is responsibl8 for preparing the Trustae's report and the financial statèménts in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Stsndards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice) The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustee to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of tha incoming r8sources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustee is required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; obsep4e the methods and principles in the Charities SORP. make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable arKI prudent. prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The Trustee is responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable him to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. He is also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
