RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES
As cxplaincd Illo￿ fully in thc trustrcs, responsibilitics statcincnt. thc tru5trcs {who arc also thc

statemenrs and for being sarisfied that rh¢v give a tni¢ and fair view, and for su¢h inl¢rnal ¢onrrol as
the trustees deterinine is necessary to enable the preparation of finan¢ial statements that are free from

In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are responsible for assessing the charity's ability to
continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going concern and using the
goii)g concern basis of accounting unless the trustees either intend to liquidate the charit), or to cease

AUDITOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE AUDIT OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Our objcctivcs are to obtain reasonabl¢ assurancc about whcthcr th¢ financial statcmcnts as a wholc
are free froiii material misstatemellt, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor's report
that includes our opiiiion. Reasonable assuranc¢ is a high l¢v¢l of assuraii¢¢, but is not a guaranree
that an audit conducied in accordance ￿'1th ISAS (UK) will alwavs detect a material misstatemenl
hen it exists. Misstatements can arise from fraud or error and are considered material if, individually
or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic decisions of users
taken on the basis of these financial statements.
Irregularities, including fraud. are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design
procedures in line with our respoiisibilities. outliiied aboi'e. to detect tnaterial Iiiisstatements in
respect of irrcgularities, including fraud. The ¢xtcnt to which our proccdurcs arc capablc of dctcctin¥
irregularities, including fraud is detailed below..
We obtained an understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks that are applicable to the
Charity through dis¢us8ion with th¢ trustees and id¢ntifi¢d finan¢ial reporting l¢gislatii)n and ¢harity
legislation as being most significant to these financial statements.
We communicated these identified trameworks amongst our audit team and remained alert to any
indications of non•coiiipliance throughout the audit. We ensured that the engagement team had
sufficient competence and capability to identify or recognise non-cotnpliance ivith the laivs and
regulations.
We discussed with the trustees the policies and procedures regarding cotnpliance with these legal and
rcgulatory fratn¢works.
W¢ asscsscd thc susocptibility of th¢ Lharity's financial statcm¢nts to tnat¢rial misstat¢mcnt du¢ to
non-vonipliance with legal and regulatory fraineworks, incliiding how fraud might occur, by enquiry
with th¢ trust¢¢s during rh¢ planning and finalisation phas¢s qlages of our aiidil. The sus¢¢ptibility to
such material misstatement was deterniined to be low.
B<ised on this understandin& Th'e designed our audit procedures to identify non-compliance with the

legacy income is recognised when receipt is probable and entitlement is established.
incoinc from donated goods is tncasured at the fair valuc of thc good5 unlcss this is

it Inay be regarded as restricted.
Resour¢es expended
Expenditure is charged on an accrual basis and allocated to the appropriate headings in the
accounts.
The majority of costs are directly attributable to specific activities. Costs incurred in respect of
the Charitable activitics include clciiicnts of staff costs and attributable support Losts

except to which it otTsets any previous revaluation gain, in which case the loss is shown within
other recognised gains and losses on the statement of financial activities.
Depreciation
Depreciation is calculaled so as to ivrite off the cost or valuation of an asset, less its residual

For the purposes of impairment testing, when il is not possibl¢ to ¢slimale the re¢overabl¢
amount of an individual asset, an estimate is made of the reCO￿.erable amount of the cash-
generating unit to w,hich the asset belongs. The cash-generating unit is the smallest identitiable
group of assets that includes the asset and generates cash infloivs that largely independent of the
cash inflows frotll other assets or groups of assets.
For inipairtnent testing of goodwill, the good￿.11] acquircd in a business coinbination is, from the
acquisition datc, allocat¢d to each of the cash-g¢n¢rating unit5 that are cxpcctcd to beiicfit frotll

are assigned to those units.
Finallcial instruments
A financial asset or a finan¢ial liability is re¢ognis¢d only when th¢ ¢harity b¢¢omes a party to
the contractual provisions of the instrument.
Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at the amount receivable or payable including
any related transaction costs.
Current assets and current liabilities are subsequently measured at the cash or other
consideration expected to be paid or received and not discounted.
Debt instruments are subsequently tneasured at amortised cost.
Where investments in shares are publicly traded or their fair value can otherwise be measured
r¢liably, th¢ invcstm¢nt is subs¢qu¢ntly mcasur¢d at fair valuc with chan¥cs in fair i'alue
recognised irt incoiiie and expenditure. All other such investments are subsequently measured at
¢osi less impairinent.
