THE PERSIAN HEBREW COMMUNITY TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT for the Year ended 31 March 2024 The trustees present their Annual Report and Financial Statements tor the year ended 31 March 2024 The tru<tees have elected to prepare accounts on a receipts and payments basis under Section 133 ot the Charities Act 2011. Structure* governanee and management The Charity was fomerly known as The Persian Hebrew Congregation. In accordance with the order of the Charity Commission lor England and Wales. as Irom 19 July 201 O the Charity is now known as The Persian Hebrew Community and is goTremed by the Scheme set out by the Charity Commission. The trustees who served during the year were: Amos Azizoff (originally appointed 19 July 2010. reappointed 19 July 2022) Michael Hakimian (origip_allv appointed 19 Jul), 201 O. reappointed 19 July 2022) Alex Bassalian (originally appointed 19 July 2010. reappointed 19 July 2022) jeft.rey Azizoff (originally appoinied 19 Jul}, 2010. reappointed 19 July 2022) Geoffrey Azizolahotl" (originally appointed 8 May 201), reappointed 8 May 2021) The appointment of trustees is governed by the Scheme and each trustee is appointed for a tenn of 4 years. Objectives and activities The Charity's objects are: The advancement of the Jewish t.aith among persons of the Persian Hebrew Community with a preference for those who are for the time being resident in Great Britain. (i) The education in the Jewish faith of the children of members of the Persian Hebrew Community Wlth a preference for those who are tor the time being resident in Great Britain. The relief of poverty and sickness among the Persian Hebrew Community With a prcference for those who are t.or the time being resident in Great Britain. Such other purposes ancillary to the foregoing purposes as the trustees may from time to time decide.

The trustees hold at least 2 meetings each year at which consideration is given to the Charity's investments and distribution of funds. The trustees have paid due regard io the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the Charity should undertake. Achievements and performance During the year the Charity donated £65.000 to United Mashadi Community of Israel and £12,000 to Vaad Jerusalem for the purpose of providing food and medicine for poor Persian families in Israel. The Chaeity also donated £25.000 to Chabad Mishkafayim for the advancement of and education in the Jewish faith of Persian families in Israel. Financial review As at 31 March 2024 the Charitv's tunds. all of which were unrestricted, amounted. at book cost, to £1,662,038 (2023 - £1,657,705). Ot the £1,662,038 £1,182,925 has been invested in a freehold propety to provide income for the charity and £487,021 was held at bank. The sources of the £1.662.038 comprise funds of £1,335,455 held at 31 March 2011, a legacy ot" £68.283 received in 2022 and £258.300 income held in reserve. THE PERSIAN HEBREW COMMUNITY INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE PERSIAN HEBREW COMMUNITY {"the Charity") I report on the accounts of the Persian Hebrew Community for the year ended 31 March 2024, which are set out on pages 5 to 6. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The Charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section l M(2) of the Charities Act 2011 ("the 2011 Act") and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: (i) (li) examine the financial statements under section 145 of the 2011 Act; to follow the procedures laAa dowi in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under sectloii 145(i)(b) ot.the ?01 l Act: and to state whether particular matte￿￿ hai'e come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts pre>ented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is gii'en as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Independent examiner's statement In connection with my examination. no matter has come to my attention: (a) which gives me reason2ble cause to believe thal in any material respect the requirements: (i) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 201 l Act; and (li) to prepare accounts M,hich accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requiremknts of the 201 l Act have not been met; or to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
