In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are required to:

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the church and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011.

Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ - 4TH WATCH Independent Examiners Report to the trustees

We have examined the financial statements for the year ended 31 October 2023 on pages 5 to 9, which have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out on page 7

Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Independent Examiner

As described on page 2, the trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements of the church. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this period under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is our responsibility to:

examine the financial statements under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

state whether particular matters have come to our attention.

We have been appointed under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 and report in accordance with the regulations under that Act.

Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was conducted in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and the seeking of explanations from the trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all of the evidence that would be required by an audit and, consequently, no opinion is given as to whether the financial statements present a 'true & fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

During the course of our examination, nothing has come to our attention which gives us reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that:

a) proper accounting records have been kept in accordance with Section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; and

those records and comply with the accounting requirements of Charity Act 2011 and with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities (revised 2014).

Further, during the course of our examination, nothing has come to our attention that, in our opinion, should be drawn to your attention in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
