Summary of Main Activities for Year ended 31st Aug 2025

In planning our activities for the year, the trustees have kept in regard the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. During the year The Blue School Parents Association raised £26,714 which, after payment of events, fundraising and administration expenses, left a surplus of £17,162 raised. Together with the opening bank balance/cash in hand of £30,495, the total surplus available to provide facilities and equipment to advance the education and enrich the experience of the pupils at the school was £47,657. This year the combine Christmas activities enabled the largest and highest fundraisers – Christmas Raffle, Christmas disco, and Christmas merchandise – to take place. Other successful events were the Summer activities (Football Tournament, Colour Fun Run), class bake sales, and uniform sales.

Donations were paid to The Blue School totalling £34,568, the majority of which went towards reading books/scheme (£7k), the Reception class grounds (£7k), and the OPAL programme (£6.2k). A listing of all expenditure incurred in donations to the school is given in the detailed financial statements.

Reserves Policy

There is no formal reserves policy however The Blue School PA will attempt to match as closely as possible the timing of the funds being generated with the funds being granted to the school’s activities and needs. Notwithstanding, from time to time there may be significant future one off commitments which warrant the building of reserves.
