Tl)e trustees present their report with the linancial statements of the charity for the year ended JO Sep 2022. The trustees
have adopted the provisions of Accountingy aiid Reportingl b), Charities.. Statetnent of Recoinmeiided Practice applicable
ro charities preparing their accounts in accordance ￿1th the Financial Reporting Siandard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) {effective l January 2019).

Redhill Islamic s￿dY Circle (RISC) is constituted as a charitable tti]St registered M'ith charities commission in October
2010 under chanty number I130280.The charity is governed b}, its deed of trust and con%titutes an unincorporated

Charit Trustees
There are six Trustees of the Redhill Islami¢ Study Circle who oversee the smooth running of the Cliarity. Trustees are
valuable assets for the charity because the>, bring an outside viewpoint and a wealth of experience and knowledge in
cominunity work.
Finanee
Trustees meet regularly to discuss the financial health of the Charity.The Charity has implemented its own strict
finaiiLial procedures to ensure all assets, including moiiey are used respoiisibly. The Cl)arity ensures its Asset Re¥ister is
kept up to date. The Charity adheres to the Mone), Laundering Regulatioiis and all meTnbers pay due Tegard to the
Charity Commission guidance on Public Benefit when deciding its activities, ensuring it meets the Charity's aims. The
Charitj relies on donations fron) the communit}, and lund-raising even(s w cover at least part of the running costs.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objecti>e5 and aims
The objects of the Charity are to advance the Islamic f8lth in Redhill, Surrev Area for the benefii of the public in
particular through the holding of the prayer meetings, lectures, the public celebration of religious fesiivals and the
distribution of literature on the Islamic faith to enlighten other5.
A dedicated team of scholars and volunteers arrange regular Islamic events and ialks both in English and Urdu.
The masjid is led by Imam Hafiz Abdul Sattar (chair person), a teacher with exceptional know'ledge and commitn)ent.
RISC is an independent Muslim masjid that provides facility for 5 daily prayers for Muslims and also provides learning
facilities for"The Holy Quran"
The promotion L)f good quality Islamic education has been a CL)niinuing aim and objective of the Charity since its
establishment. The Charirv also aims io promo￿ a uniied community. li is continual in its condemnaiilin of religious hate
crimes

l) Prayer
The masjid provides a centre for our prayers and worship and for the a¢tivities as%aciated with our faith.
During the week we have about l 00- 150 people who regularly attend daily and Friday Prayers.
2) Marriag¢ Solemnisatio
Family life is tlie buildiiig block of a success￿] society, and inarria¥e is an occasion of ¥reat joy iii the Muslim
community. RISC facilitates the solemmsation of an Islamic contract of marriage. The newly married couple is
provided with an official 'Nikah" certificate to show that they have been married according to Islamic law.
3) Religious Advice & Counselling
Muslims turn to Tnasjid for ¥uidaiice and advice in all Tnatter5 of their day-to-day life. RISC has traiiied imams
10 advice and counsel on the many concerns of the community such as bereavemeni, cultural challenges,
generational issues and matrimonial problems
4) Funeral Service
Funeral rites for a Muslim must be observed according to Islamic religiou5 guidelines. In sha Allah we will be
planing these arrangements m the near future, so all Miislims from Surre)('Sussex and nearby areas are able
to use funeral services.
Public benefit
Tl)e Trustees confirm that tl)ey have complied w'ith the duty in sectioi) 4 of the Charities Act 201 I to have due regard to
piiblic benefit guidance published by the Commission in deterniining the activities undertaken by the Charity.
Volunteers
Thc cliarity benefiis from g team of dedicated and comniitted volunteers, who are skilled in many areas. They are key to
the success of the chariiy in delivering public benefit to the community.They have cOntribu￿d Iheir lime and effons to
drive the organisation forward to ensure that more people. particularly tl)e youth, Lan benefit fiom the seivices and
activities that the charity offer.

Risk management
The trustees have a duty ro identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate
controls are iii place to provide reasoiiable assuTaiice against fraud aiid error.
Systems are consistently being reviewed and upda￿d as and when warranted w diminish ideniified risks ro an acceptable
level. Control systeins, insurance cover and other measures are used as appropriate.
The trustees also recognise the need to maintain the Charitys independence and develop incL)me strategies 10 ensure the
Charity'5 fiiiancial stability well into the 21 st century.

The law applicable ro charities in England and Wales, Ihe Charities Act 2011, Charity (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed requires tl)e trustees to prepare lii)ancial statements lor each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the cliarity and of the incoming resoiirces and
application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the ¢hariN for that period. In preparing those

As the chariry trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the prepargtion of the accounts in accordance with the
requiren)ents of the Charities Aet 2011 I'the Act'}.
I repon in respect L)f my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under Section 145 of the Act and in carrying out
my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Seciilin 145{5)(bl of

Basis of preparing the financial statements
The financial siaiements of the charitv. which is a public benefit entiry under FRS 102. have been prepared in
accoTdance with the Charities SORP IFRS 102} 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to chgrities preparing their accounts in accordance ￿'1th the Finan¢ial
Reporting Sthndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2019),,
Financial Reportiiig Standaid 102 'The FinaiiLial Reportiiig Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Irelaiid, and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statcment% have been PTcpared under the historical cost
convention.

Expcnditure
Liabilitie5 are recognised a5 expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the
charity, to that expenditure, it is probable thai a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and
the amouiii of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expendiiure is accounied for on an accruals basis and has
beeii classified under headings that aggFregFate all c05t related to the categFory. Il'here cost5 cannot be directly
attributed to particiilar headings the), have been allocated to aciivities oil a basis consistent with the use of
resources.
Tangible filed assets
Tai)gible fixed assets are sthted at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any a¢cumula￿d impaimjent
losses. Historical cost includes expeiiditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the locatioii and
condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by manggement.
Depreciation is charged so as to allocate the cost of assets less their residual value over their estimated useful
lives, using either a strai¥ht line or reducing balance nietliod, as indicated below.

The assets. residual values. useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed, and adjusted prospectively if
approprigte, or if there is an iiidicatioii of a significant change since the last reporting date.
Gains and losses on disposals are detemiined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying amount and are
recogi)ised in profit or loss.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its cl)aritable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used iii accordance with the charitable objectives at the di5cretioii Of the trustees.
Restricied funds can only be used for particular restricied purposes wiihin the objects of the charitv. Restrictions
arise wheii 5pecifJed by the donor or wheii ￿l]dS are raised for particular restricted PUTP05es.
