Essex Cricket and Community Trust changed its name to Essex Qicket Foundation on 15 £eptember 2015. The company is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association which Set out the objects and powers of the charitable company. In the event of the company being wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited to £10 per Tnember OF the company. The Club Academy was the prindpal beneficiary from the Graham Gooch holarship Fund, but srants were a]so made to the District Cricket Board5 to enable them to coach and identtfy talented yourLg cricketers who may eventually make an E55ex 4uad. Financial 5UPPOrt of £28,(K)O provided for Street Cricket, Disabiltty and Girl's cricket through prograrns oIgani*d and fa¢i]itated by Essex Ciicket in the Commuraity, which w¢)uld not have been possible before the forniation of the Foundation. The Foundation also Supported the East London Cricket Hub and the employment of an apprentice to support the atnbition to support young people with education and employment. Totsl sramts and donations n)ade by the Foundation total £1,554,725 at 31 DecembeI 2023. In previous years the Tiu5tee5 agreed to commit to support cojmnunity uicket projects. This include8 £28,000 for the Essex Cricket in the Com]nunity to carIy out further Walkins CrEcket supporting mentAI health, gir]s and dis&biLity programmes, together with £2,(K)a which is provided to each of the Essex Distritt Boards so that they can provide a development pro8raJnme for YOuE￿(￿S through coaching and competition. Additionally the Graha￿ GoiKh Scholarshtp Fund supports the aub Academy with a mxnimum of £30,0￿ each year.

Mental and Physical Health, Community Cohesion and Education/EmpIoyability. Mental & Ph sical Health The Foundation support ha5 enabled u5 to run a "One hit to another Hit" Rehab programme where around 20 individu￿ have been engaged via developing leadership. safeguarding and first aid skills to help develop confidence their rehabilitation. One individual now volunteers 6 days a week on different cricket programmes. Our Sporting Memories prOgran￿￿e in Dagenham supports people with early onset of dementia and also loneliness as highlighted below. The Foundation a150 5uppo)rted the settin8 up of Walking Cricket hub.4 around the county with over 50 senior conimunity residents now able to break down isolation and lack of physical activity with weekly social cricket session5 and also coffee mornings encouraging people to meet and share life experience5. This ha5 now been linked up with Sporting Memories focus on developing SUPPOTt around isolation and dementia. Communi Coh￿10￿ Linking up with our Breaking Boundaries and Core City work a5 well ￿ linking up with taking the learning from these areas the Foundation is supporting community progratns that help to develop creating community cohesion across Gender, Diversity and Age, one such exanTrple that of the support around a refugee programme in North Essex helping a group ()f reEugees to settle into the local conimunity. I'hese range from mentoring days to small group activation and development. I'he work started to See us link up with other stakeholders using the simple forni of Tape Ball cricket to bring the comniunities together. As well as this, the F'oundation also supporLs a number of county wide competitions that bring people together from across the county to enjoy the benefit that cricket can have. In 2023 we had around 2000 participants. The Foundation has abo Supported the Desi Women prograinme that ha5 helped inspire, train and en8a8e over 300 WOTnen from Ethnic mitiority groups. The Foundation has supported the programme by supporting community celebTations and festivals. An ever increasing area for the Foundation has been the WOTk around supporting the Tefugees within the county with session5, equipment and opportunities now provided in a nuniber of areas of the county. Education and F.m lo abili In 202.3 the I,oundation again supported the development of Women and GiTI's cricket this was via supportins the running of the county pro8rams acr055 the county with over 150 girls engaged and with one of the beneficiaries going on to play for England in 2018. '1'he Foundation also supported over 1800 &'i"Is engaged Girl Guide badg￿ and the delivery of cricket in Secondary schools to over 30 schools. llii5 ha5 Supported the growth ol the number of K'omen and girls sections in the County. The Foundation is also a key supporter in the developTnent o)E ability cricket helpin8 U5 to not only run a club and county program with around 500 participant5 but also support in the training opportunities for parhcipanls with coaching and other life skill quaLifications. FINANCIAL STATEMEwrs The financial statement5 01 the charitable COTnpany, which is a public bcnefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charitie5 SORP (FR£ 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Unrestricted general funds are avaiIable for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general ObJectiv￿ of the Charity. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headin8S they havc been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of the resources. Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the Charity in the delivery of its activitie5 and services. It includes both costs that can allocated directly to such activities aiid those costs of an indirect nature necessary Io Support them.
