The main activities undertaken during the period were skills training, shipbuilding, sail training and the ongoing development of a visitor centre.
Objects: 4. The Charity's Objects ("Objects") Are Specifically Restricted To The Following:1. To Advance The Education Of The Public In The Historical And Maritime Heritage Of Blyth Andthe Coast Of Northumberland In Particular But Not Exclusively Through The Provision Of:a) Volunteering, Training And Employment Opportunities For People Of All Ages In Particular Butnot Exclusively In The Fields Of Sail Training, Maritime, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Tourism,and Adventure Activities;b) A Harbour Side Boat Building And Repair Facility, And Associated Services Including Itsmaintenance, For The Public Appreciation And Utility2. To Act As A Resource For Young People Living In The North East Of England By Providingadvice And Assistance And Organising Programmes Of Physical, Educational And Otheractivities As A Means Of:(a) Advancing In Life And Helping Young People By Developing Their Skills, Capacities Andcapabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Independent, Mature And Responsibleindividuals;(b) Advancing Education;(c) Relieving Unemployment;(d) Providing Recreational And Leisure Time Activity In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Peopleliving In The Area Of Benefit Who Have Need By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disability,poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances With A View To Improving The Conditions Of Lifeof Such Persons.
