Summary of the Charity's Objects as Set Out in Its Governing Document
The objects of K&O Childcare are to advance the education and development of children below statutory school age whose parents or carers live and/or work within the London Borough of Southwark and surrounding areas, without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, religion, disability, or political opinion.
The charity achieves these objectives by:

Working in partnership with parents, local authorities, and other service providers to provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where children can develop at their own pace, build confidence and self-esteem, and reach their full potential.

Providing appropriate play opportunities and workshops that encourage parents to take an active role in their children's learning and development and become involved in the nursery community.

Supporting parents to understand and meet the developmental needs of their children.

Providing guidance and support for children with behavioural difficulties and other special educational needs.
Summary of the Main Activities Undertaken for the Public Benefit
K&O Childcare operates an Ofsted-registered nursery (Registration No. EY419807) in Peckham, serving families who live and/or work in Peckham and the surrounding communities.
The nursery operates Monday to Friday, offering:

Breakfast Club: 7:00 am – 8:00 am

Nursery Sessions: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

After-Nursery Care: 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm
In line with the Government's Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE), K&O Childcare provides funded early education places of up to 15 or 30 hours per week for eligible children aged 2 to 4 years.
In addition to nursery provision, K&O Childcare offers free play opportunities and workshops for children and parents, promoting family engagement, child development, and community participation.

The charity's primary objective has been to continue providing high-quality early years education and care to every child attending the nursery.
Throughout the year, the nursery has continued to enhance its facilities, learning environment, and educational provision as part of its commitment to achieving an 'Outstanding' rating at its next Ofsted inspection.
Children have made good progress across all areas of learning and development. They remain happy, settled, and engaged within a nurturing environment supported by a dedicated, caring, and highly motivated staff team with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
K&O Childcare has continued to provide valuable support to children and families from low-income households. During the year, the nursery delivered funded early education places for 62 children aged 2 to 4 years each week, providing a high-quality curriculum that promotes school readiness and positive outcomes.
The nursery also continued to deliver Government-funded childcare through:

15 and 30 hours of funded childcare for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds; and

Funded places for eligible 2-year-olds through the Government's early education funding scheme.
Policy on Reserves
K&O Childcare does not currently operate a formal reserves policy. The trustees regularly monitor the charity's financial position to ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet its ongoing operational commitments and continue delivering its charitable objectives.

Summary of the Charity's Main Achievements During the Year
During the year, K&O Childcare continued to fulfil its charitable objectives by providing high-quality early years education and childcare to children within the local community.
The nursery remained committed to delivering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential. The trustees and staff continue to work towards further improving the quality of the

provision, with the aim of achieving an Outstanding rating at the next Ofsted inspection.
Children attending the nursery made good progress across all areas of learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). They remained happy, settled, and engaged in a nurturing environment supported by a dedicated, experienced, and enthusiastic staff team.
The charity continued to provide valuable support to families, particularly those on low incomes, by ensuring access to affordable, high-quality childcare and early education.
During the year, the nursery:

Supported approximately 40 children each week through the Government's funded early education programmes for children aged 2 to 4 years.

Delivered the 15-hour and 30-hour Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) for eligible three- and four-year-olds.

Provided funded places for eligible two-year-olds under the Government's early years funding scheme.

Delivered a broad and engaging curriculum that promoted children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, helping them become confident learners and preparing them for school.
Through these activities, K&O Childcare continued to make a positive contribution to children's development and to the wellbeing of families within the local community.
Policy on Reserves
The trustees recognise the importance of maintaining appropriate financial reserves to support the charity's long-term sustainability. However, due to the charity's current financial position and the need to maximise resources for service delivery, K&O Childcare does not currently operate a formal reserves policy. The trustees review the charity's financial position regularly and will consider the introduction of a formal reserves policy as the charity's financial circumstances develop.
