|Safeguarding||||
|2021 SaW many ofthe same challenges<br>as the previous year. With January<br>bringIng the third nationallockdown,||feelings of Isolation||
|Increased<br>opportunitIes<br>for the unscrupulous<br>to deceive the unsuspecting<br>into partIng with their savings.<br>It was even more essential||||
|for us to find ways to keep in contact Ik support<br>everyone<br>from harm or abuse. ThIs was achieved<br>in different|ways across the parish|||
|through<br>Life Groups<br>gr Pastoral Teams amongst others. We are grateful to those who helped to support<br>the most vulnerable<br>dunng||||

|There were significant<br>changes<br>in Safeguarding<br>personnel<br>at both diocesan<br>8L Parish level. Most noticeably for||us our long serving|PSO|
|)Parish Safeguarding<br>Officer) Tracey, based at the Lantern stepped<br>down, she will be very much missed. We were blessed that a new||||
|appointment<br>ofBarbara<br>J was made, and a smooth transition<br>was made as Tracey was able to pass the baton|on to her before she|||
|left.||||
|In hne wIth our aims for 2D21 a working<br>party was formed to review Safeguarding<br>pohcies and practice. As a result of this the PCC||||
|approved<br>a revrsed Safeguarding<br>policy, the adoption ofthe Church of England's<br>Parish Safeguarding<br>Handbook||and our parish Agreed||
|Practice Guidelines.||||
|The PSOs, wIth the help ofTeam Leaders & PCC members,<br>Formulated<br>our Whole Parish Safeguarding<br>Action Plan, based on the||||
|Church of England's<br>Model Parish Safeguarding<br>Checklist. We feel that as a parish we are meeting or working|towards<br>meeting<br>most|||
|targets, which<br>is very encouraging.<br>We have identified<br>two main aims for 2022 in line with the Salisbury<br>Diocesan aim to Embed||||
|safeguarding<br>at the heart ofthe Church's<br>mIssron, as we seek to be a safe space for everyone.||||
|These are||||
|To raise the profIle of Safeguarding<br>being at the heart of mission<br>througis<br>training<br>and discussion.||||
|To share good practice<br>by meeting<br>with Team Leaders and Teams on a regular basIs.||||
|We wIsh to thank<br>all of you who continue to support<br>us In our efforts to create welcoming 8safe environments||across the parish||
|where any concerns can be raIsed and are responded<br>to openly, promptly<br>and consistently.||||
|We are able to report that the PCC has complied<br>with the duty to have "due regard" to the House of Bishops'|Safeguarding<br>Policy and|||
