The organisation 15 a tharltable company limlted by guarantee. The company was
establlshed under a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers
of the charitable Company and is governed under the artlcles of Associatlon. In the event of
the company bein8 wound UP• members are required to contribute an amount net
exceedlng £1.
Recruitment andAppointment of Monooement Committee
The director5 of the company are also charity trustees for the purpose of the charity law and
under the companWs articles are known as members of the management committee. As
Leicester Pride is an or8anisation to work specifically with the Gay Community the
management seeks to ensure that this is reflected in the membership of the trusty bodv.
Trustee Induction ond Troining
The current trustees have been connected with the project for a number of years and each
of them have been actively invofved with the prartital work of the charities work through
volunteering with Leicester Pride. Each new board member has to undergo a period of a 6
month trial period before being put fon¥ard for electK)n onto the board by their fellow
peers.

on a re8ular basis to See that the event is running smoothly.

The trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a regular basis and
believe that 6 months running costs a5 reserves, combined with an annual review of tontrols
over key financlal systems. will provide sufficient resources In the event of adverse
conditions. The twstees have also examined other operntional and business risks faced by
the charity and confimi that they have established systems to mitigate the significant risks.

Leicester Pride is a communlty based charity with a primary focus on the Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual, and trnnsgender community in Leicester. Leicestershi￿ and Rutland. The charity's
main aim 15 to pmmotÈ understandinz and acceptan￿ of the Gay communrty wlth in thSs
area also encompas5in8 the Heterosexual community so as to foster good relations.
Although this event is an annual event the trustees and board of directors are continuallv
meeting to ensure the event is a success (for all the above mentioned). Leicester Pride
strives to work with Leicester City council (hereafter known as LCCI. Lelcester Constabulary
(hereafter known as LC}. Leicester Fire Service (he￿after known as LFSI, and all relevant
emergency services to promote a safe environment for all.
In 2017- 2019 Leicester Pride in conjunrtion with Trade sexual health had a well bein8 tent
on Virtoria Park to help promote awareness of matters not just appertalnlng to the Gay
community but also the Heter05exual Community by enablin8 them to have testing for ST￿5
with an on the stop result. this was a great succe55 and Leicester Pride in conjunction with
the LGBT centre and Trade Sexual Health look forward to bein8 able to supply this on
regular basis. Pride also work alongside with the L.C.C to also help promote diversity within
Leicester and Leicestershire.
Public benefit
We have referred to the guidan￿ contained in the charity commission's general guidance on
Public Benefrt when reviewing our aims and objerttves. and in planning our future artivities.
The charity believes Ft has provided a public benefit during the year through the areas
outlined in the paragraph headed "Objectives and Activitie<, and also in °Achievement5 and
Perfomance~ As trustees we take our charitable role very seriously and the charity work5
hard to make Sure that it provides charitable Servi￿5 that are sociably inclusNe.

The trustee's who are the directors of Lei￿ster Pride for the purpose of the company law I
are responsible for preparing the Trustee's Annual ￿port and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally accepted Accounting Practi5e.
Company law requires the trustee's to prepare finantial statements for each Pinancial year
which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the
incoming resources and application resources. including the income and expenditure, of the
charitable company for that period. In preparin8 these financial statements, the trustees are
required to:

irregularities.
