The Trustees present their Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December
2024.
The financial statements have been prepared in 2ccordan￿ with the accounting policies sct out in note 1
to the accounts and comply with the charity's governing document. the Charities Act 2011 and Statement
of PieGomtnended PidLtice." Accountlng and reporting by charrties preparing their accounts in accordance
with the Financial Reporting Standard 2pplicable in the UK and Rapublic of Ireland (FRS 1021 published
January 2019.
Aims and objectives of the charity

To protect the physical and mental hea￿h of sufferers of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder {PTSD}
and their familie5 througli Ilie provision of: emoiional an¢J psycho-therapeutic support and
treatment, education and practical advice_
It achieves its charitable objectives by-.
The training of professionals. volunteers aiid al-llbk sections of the population in prevention and
coping mechanisms for PTS0 and to advance awareness of PT.8fJ

The charity was established by Deed on 9 August 2010 LIK Friendg of Natal is an indèpgndent ¢harity.
The Trustees are responsible for the overall managcment and control of the Ghartty.

Review of the charity during the year
I he over711 income for the year was £96.044 (?0?3 £153,589) and expenditure on charitable acknmties
amounted to £79,268 (2023 £11) resulting in 8 surplus ftjr the yeai 01 £16,776 (2023 £153,578).
Reserves have thus increaseci to Ei/i.294 (2023 - £154.518).

The major risk to the charity achieving its piimary aiiii¥ is failure to obtaln the present degree of
sponsorship. The Trustees aim lo mitigate this by increasing the reserves_

NATAL
I report to the Trustees on my examination of the financial statements of UK Friends of Natal) ('the charity'}
for the year ended 31 Deceinber 2024 whlch are set out on pages 5 to 8.
ResponsFbilities and basis of report
As the Trustees of Ilie Gharty you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in
accordance wf(h the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'the 2011 Act'i.
I report in respect of my examination of the charrty's financial statements CArriP.d out under section 145 of
the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 145 {5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
An independent examination does not involve gathering all the evidence that would be required in an audtt
and convequcntly does not Gover all the lii¢all¢rb that an au(iiior consi(lers In qiving their opinion on the
financial staiemenis. The planning and conduct of an audit goes beyond the limitad assurance that an
independpnt examination can provide. Consequently, l expre33 no opinion as to wliether Ihe financial
statements present a 'true and fair view, and my report is limrted to those specrfic matters set niit in the

1 Accounting policies
1.1 AGGounting Gonvention
The financial statements are prepared under the hisloricAI enst rnnvention. in accordance with applicable
accounting stsndards, the Charities Act and wf(h the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP 2005},
Accounting and RepoIliJiy for Gharities.
The accounts have been prepa￿d under the historical cost convention with iterns recognised at the cost or
transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note to these accounts.
The financial statcmcnts are prepared in sterling, which is Ihe fuii¥lional Gutrency of the Trust. Monetary
dmounts in these flnancial statemenis are rounded to the nearest £.
The accounts (financial Statements) have been prepared iii dLcordance with the Statement of
Recommende¢J Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Chartties preparing their accoiintq in accordance
with the FinAncial Reporting Standard applicablg in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS102) issued
January 2019 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of
Irelan(i IPF<b 102) and the Charities Act 2011 and the financial rp.porting standard applicable in thg United
Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
The accounts (financial statements) havg. bpp.n preparèd to give a 'true and fairf viaw and have departcd
from the Charities (Accounts and Report8} Re9ulations 2008 only to the exteiit re4uired lo provide a true
drid fair view. This departure has involved following Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with thp. Financi21 RÈporting Standard applicablo in tha UK and Republic of Ircland
IFRS 102} issued on 16 Juty 2014 rather than the Accounting and Repoilirig by Charities.- Statemeni of
Recommended Practice effectwe from 1 Apnl 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
The charity constitutes a public benefft entity as defiii¢d by FRS 102. The charty Is a trust that is domicileo
in England and Wales.
It is the opinion of the truste¢s Ili(Il the chatity is a going concem, and Ihey are aware of no material
uncertainlies which may affect its abilities to continue as such for the for&s￿.￿bIg. future.
The trustees Gonsider tlial, <il the time of approving the flnancial statements, there Is a reasonable
expectation that the charity has adequate resources ta r.()ntiniie in opÈrational existence for the
foreseeable future.
The trustees continue to monitor its cash pn.4ition and with regard to tts debts, the going concern basis
¢ontinues to bc adoptcd in the preparation of the charity's financial statenients.
1.2 Incoming resources
