tn a r￿￿]iS￿ area of a¢￿1VatiOn such as ￿￿￿tOn and Bolwortl4 wbi¢h hus some of the
most deprived political wards in the county, the tr1￿ are very aware that both old aud
young are vulnerable to the stresses of evayday lifr.
During the year. we receifftl 1.000 new referrals of whith 616 were adults and 484 were
ildren and young pwl¢ and at least a furtlw 234 clients continued in counselling from the
pr¢Triou8 year and 162 of th￿C were childrn and young pa)pl¢ reflecting the complexity of
the ¢bildren and young people that wc are working witlL Wc hav¢ ¢ontinued to ￿1Ve many
additional o4uiries from people who live othside of the area and ar¢ thffcfore not ¢ligibl¢ for
our fill￿ltig streams. For th¢ dients we hav¢ been able to ell8a8e with we f¢¢1 that we have
made a dIff￿enCe iti their lives by hdping them to ¢ope in what has L7)ntinued for some to b¢
difficult time8. The mainstay of our servic£ 18 our volunt¢eTr Wlthout wh<m] we would not
have been able to support the people that we have. This includes a strong team of senior
volunteer counsellors some of whom ]wve volunteeted for us for a nunther of yeaT8. All of
our volunteers are a most of our service without whom thera￿tiC support could
not take pla¢¢.

a deartb of ally suitsble propty available to Ptrcha8e in the Area. We keep the position

The sffvice is bighly valued by those who T¢￿1Ve it and for orgaDisations that provide
fimding. Unfortunately¥ some of those agencies have reorganiS￿l resultin8 in less fimding
being available and the Service being drastically reduce(L often with little notice to the
s￿vice or prospective reCipi￿ts of wbich d¢malld still remains great. This has added fillther
pre8sure8 for th¢ Managw of the S¢Thi
Notwlthstanding all pressu￿8 and diffieultie& the a8￿cY Lx>ntinued to produce excellent
results from the counselling provided and is higbly Valued by individuals of all ages and th¢
agencies using it. The are therefo￿ salisfiol that the G￿lty has continued to
achieve its principle puryos¢ in ca￿1￿8 out activiti¢s vthich benefit a specific section of the
community in providing a couoseljing s¢ryice for 80me of the neediest people in th¢
commwjity. The trustees 8r¢ fi]rther satisfied tbat risks arising from its activities have be¢n
ideatified and appropriately managed and that 8Uitable accowiting policies have been
