The charity has the general aim of contributing to the qualit), of life of the people in the St Ann'5 area by
expanding their horizons through the pmvision ot" exciting, challenging and accessible community events and
professional programmes.

centre. towards finaThcial iThclusion through learning. edU￿tiOn and tKysitive job searching. Provide healthy

The centre relies on grants and the income from rents, room hite and service charges to eover its operating costs.
Affordability and accessibility. is key to our aims and is reflected in our pricing wlicy.
We endeavour to encourage all within our community to take part in our activiti¢5 and to attend our Centre.
The trustees confirni that they have complied with the requirements of 5edion 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to
have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Achi¢vemeDts performsnee
The cafe has continued to attract residents and ivorkers in the area by providing healthy and affordable dishes at
a reasonable cost. We have employed tsyo staff to ensure the cafe can be open all through the day. We ran
'Wami Hub, this winter on Wednesday evenings. It Was extraordinarily suc￿$ful with residents enjoying free
hot meals, activities such as bingo and the chance to socialise. We also had adi'isors atten& to support ￿1th
benefit issues and energy etTiciency matters.
Christmas is always a busy time with an eldevs luncheon, children'5 parties and over 40 Christm&8 hampers to
deliver to those residents, individua15 1 families in the community that were not in receipt of any knefits.
The Charity has Continued to invest in making the building safe and accessible. We have also had the back
decking reinstated and secured fimding to restore the wooden floorin8 in the cafe are and hall badi to its original
Condition. We have repl￿ed chairs and thbles in the cale and installed new doors front and back.
The team and volunteers have committed lots of time and effort to ensure the Centr¢ is able to provide a
community space for r¢5idents and others, acros5 the city. We have been able to develop an My of exc¢lleTht
resources with the corntinued help and &ssistance of the St Ami's Advice Group. the Renewal Trust. Small Steps
Bi8 Changes (SSBC). Familv Mentoring Service. Nottinghani City Council through our local councilot3 (NCC)
the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Communities and Place, and the local community. We have a resolute team of
volunteers that support the Centre. who are actively involved in decision making.
We ar¢ confident that next year will see a fiuther increase in provision and usage of the centre.

Policy on reserves
The Trustees have estsblished a w)licy whereby th¢ unrestricted fun(ts not committed or invested in tangible
fixed assets ('the free r¢serves') held by the charity should be three months of the total resour¢es. At this level,
the Board feel that they iyould be able to wntinue the currcnt activities of the charity in the event of a signkficant
drop ITh income.

Statement of Responsibilities
The trustees {who are also the directors of Chase NC Limited for the purposes of company law) are responsible
for preparing the tNstees' report and the financial statements in accordance applicable law and United
Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generallv Accepted Accounting Prnctice}. including FRS
102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland". The report and accounts
have been prepared in accordance with the provisions in the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial siatements for each financial year. Under company law
the trustees must not approve the financiaI statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fatr view
of the State of affairs ol the charilable company and of the incoming re50urce3 and application of resources,
including ils income and expendtture, of the Charitable company for that period. In prepartng these financial
statements. the truste¢s are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and apply them consi5t¢ntly:
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SOIiP;
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that can disclose with reasonable accurncy at

comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguardÉn8 the assets of the charitable
mpany and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance M'ith Aceounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice (applicable to Charities preparing their &ccounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)) (issued in October 20191
(Charities SORP {FRS 102)), the Financial Rep)rting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
(FRS 102) and the Companies Act 2006.

The financial statements hav¢ been prepared on a going con¢em basis.
The Iru51ees assess Ivhether the use of going concern is appropriate i.e. whether there are any material
uncertainties related to events or coThdilions that mav cast significant doubt on the ability of the charity to
continue as a going Concern. The trustees make this assessment in respect of a period of one year from the date
of approval of the financial statements.
Exemption from preparing a eash flow statement
Under the exemption available to smaller charitie5 the Board of Trustees h&8 chosen not to include a Ststement
of Cash Flows within the financial statements.
Income gnd endowments
Voluntary income including donations, gifts. l¢gacies and grdnts that provide core fimding or are of a general
nature is recognised when the charity has entiilement ￿ the incom< it is probable that the income will be
received and the amount can be medsured ivith sutTicient reliability.
Dondhons and leg4cl£s
Donations are recognised when the charity h&% been notified in ￿TItIng of both the amount and settlement date.
In the event that a donation is subject to conditions that require a level of perfomiance by the charity before the
charity 15 entitled to the funds, the income is deferred and not recognised until either those conditions are fully
met. or the fulfilment of those conditions is wholly ￿'1th1n th¢ control of the charity and it is probable that these
conditions will be fulfilled in the reporting period.
Grants receivablé
Grants are recognised when the charity has an entitlement to the lund8 and any conditions linked to the grants
have been met. Where perfomance conditions are attached to the grani and are yet to be tneL the income is
recogni5ed as a liability and included on the balance sheet as deferred income to be released.

Govemment grants gre recogni5ed based on the accrual model and are measured at the fair value of the asset
received or receivable. Grants are classified as relating either to revenue or to assets. Grants relating to revenue
are recogni5ed ITh income over the period in which the related costs are recognised. Grants relating to a55ets are
recognis¢d over the expected useful life of the &8set. Where part of a grant relating to an asset is deferre4 it is
reco8nÉsed as deferred income.
Tax4ilon
The charity is considered to pass the tests set out in Paragraph I Schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010 and
therefore it rneets the definition of a ¢harilable company for UK corporation tsx purw)ses. Accordingly. the
charity is potentially exempt from t&xation in respect of income or capital gains received within categories
covered by Chapter 3 Part I l of the Corpordtion Act 2010 or Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable
Gains Act 1992, to the extent that such income or gains are applied exclusively to charitable purpK)ses.

Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-tern) highly liquid
investments that are readily convertible to a kJK)wn amount of cash and are subject to an insignificant risk of
change in value.

Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of
business from suppliers. Accounts payable are ¢la55tfied &% current liabilities if the charity doe5 not have an
unconditional righL at the end of the rewrting period to defer settlement of the creditor for at least twelve
months after the reporting date. If there is an uncondttional right to defer settlement for at least twelve months
after the reporting date, they are presented as non-current liabilitie5.
Trade creditors are recognised initially at the transaction price and subsequently measur¢d at amortised cost

The charity is a company limited by guarantee and consequently does not have share capital. Each of the
trustees is liable to contribute an amount not exceeding £1 towards the assets of the charity in the event of
liquidation.

Other financial commitments
On J February 2010. the charity enlered into a 25 year lease on a property, The rent was set at a peppercorn rent,
which has not yet been demanded, The charity is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the property and
responsible for the insurance costs.

£Nil).

The charity is a registered charity and is therefore exempt from corporation taxation.
16 Trustees remuneration and expenses
No trustees, nor any persons connected with them. have received any remuneration from the charity during the
year.
No trustees have received any reimbursed expenses or any other benefits from the charity during the year.

During the year Chase NC charged SAAG rental of £11,856 (2024: £11,856) per annum and service charges of
£4,876 (2024= £4,876)
SAAG recharged Chase NC wages 2025.. £15,866 (?0?4: £15.000).
The charity provided was provided with a loan from SAAG to refurbish the kitcheT], wages and other expenses.
The amount outstanding at the year end was £11,967 (2024- £11.967). The loan is interest free and is repayable
on demand
At the balance sheet date the amount due to St Anns Advice Group was £15,212 (2024 - £12,991).
