Christ Church Methodist/URC LEP (the LEP) is a local church of the United
Reformed Church and a member church ot the Eastern Synod of the URC
and a rnember of the Chelmsford Circuit of the Methodist Church.
It is a registered as a charity under number 1137584. The church is situated
on London Road Braintree Essex.
The members of the Elders meeting are the chaiity trustees. The members

The Legal title to the church buildings is vested in the United Reformed
Church (Eastern Province) Trust as trustees and held on behalf of the LEP in
accordance with the trusts applicable to URC church properties and also
subject to the Joint SharingAgreement between the URC and Methodist
Church.
The activities, administration care and maintenance of the church are
overseen by the Elders meeting in accordance with the Constitution of the
LEP. The Elders meeting have the benefit of reports from the Property.
Business and Finance groups.
The Elders meeting has met monthly for either Business or Devotional and
Development meeting; they also meet monthly on the tirst Saturday for 8
prayer breakfast at the Toby Carvery and meet monthlyfor a prayer meeting

focussing on growth. We have studied a book-The Church of Tomorrow (by
John McGinley)
The Elders have spent considerable time discussing the proposed Mission
Partnership.
Our church mission events over the last year have included:
FamiLy Fun mornings duringthe school holidays led by our Family Link
Worker" a Christmas Bazaar at the end of November; our'Hope Mission,
once again in Clare Road area with carol singing at Christmas alongwith
knitted angels being positioned around the town as a blessing to those who
take one. We also held a Chocolate Festival weekend- Friday evening a
puddings and family quiz. Saturday a coffee morning along with bouncy
castLes and Easter activities. Also an E8Ster egg huntwas held along Clare
Road. We heLd a family games and picnic at Clare Road Park in July.
We had our second 'Blue Christmas, tree outside the church following on
from our'Bereavement Journey, course {in association with ATALoss.org
charity) which we held in September. We held a remembrance service for
all those who have been bereaved. Our next course will be later in the year.
We held an Alpha Course in January 2025.
We had ourfirst Kintsugi Hope course which was well attended by those
living around the area of Braintree.
'Wiggle Church. continued. held once a Month before Dur All-Age Worship
service. two events- a Pancake Party which was enjoyed by all and a
'UR Loved, event- Brighter Days Tourwhere Patrick Regan OBE came and
shared his book which focuses on mental health. wellbeing and resilience.

We held a Woman's Breakfast in May which was well attended - Our
speaker was Clare Musters- a British author and well-known speaker.
We are continuing in our endeavourto promote the valuable work we do at
Christ Church and are continLJing to seekvarious ways to do this including
ourwebsite and social media.
As Trustees we therefore seek to support and facilitate Braintree Area
Foodbank (our church is one of its bases), Saturday coffee mornings,
weekly lunch club, a twice weekly Tots"Us- session. children and youth

activities on 8 Friday evening and Sunday morning and two services on a
Sunday (traditional and modern), both of which are live streamed on
YouTube. and a Sunday afternoon seDiice once a quarter.
As Trustees of Christ Church, we review our Safegu8rding policies each
year and have spent considerable time discussing church finances with
David Gask the Church Treasurer regardingthe increasing costs of utility
bills and church expenditure.
